Should Buffy have played a part in Angel's end?

I have to say, I couldn't agree more. I loved Angel, loved the ending but in my mind it needed complete colosure with a Buffy apperance.

Of course, In my mind I thought up 1000 scenarios as to how to get them out of that alley still alive.

My favorite is that Wesley has contacted Giles to let him know what is happening, figuring that some or all of them could die in the final conflict.

Giles sends a team of slayers to the rescue and it's open season on the demons. Of course it goes against the info in the Damages episode of Angel where Andrew tells them that no one in their camp trusts them anymore. But then again, Andrew was an idiot and may not have been 100% in the loop on what everyone in Camp Buffy really thought about the Wolfram and Hart sitch.

And as a final note, What really did happen between SMG and Joss Whedon?

No one really knows what happened between SMG and Joss Whedon...I recall an interview with David Fury where he said they were both just being morons (although he obviously said it more professionally)...SMG didn't think Joss gave her enough credit for the success of the show and he felt she didn't give him the gratitude he deserved for "launching her career" or some crap like that. Something you'd only find in Hollywood...

Ya it seemed like ever since Buffy moved to UPN, her and Joss had a lot of disagreements espically when it came to Buffy herself.

To be fair, if there ever was arguments about "What should be done with buffy" it might just have been Sarah wanting to make sure her career wasn't affected too much by Buffy's choice.

But hopefully, they just wanted to tell the story differently. If there in fact were any arguments. Maybe they just had different ideas and that's it, and it was blown out of proportion by by-standers.

I agree with you, the final Angel episodes were a bit sloppy, there was plenty of room to fit in a Buffy visit - hello? It's called the Buffyverse for a reason!
 
I'm glad Buffy wasn't in the last episode of Angel. Angel had moved away from the spin-off feel that it had in the first season and had grown into it's own show with it's own rules (while still being part of the same universe). It needed the crossovers to pull in some Buffy fans in the first season but it soon had it's own following, some that didn't like or even watch Buffy.

I don't think it 'needed' her in the final episode but maybe some fans wanted her there. I didn't although I might liked to have seen Buffy, Spike and Angel together. 😉

I definitely don't agree.

From what I remember, SMG's biggest issue was that she didn't believe Buffy would do the things with Spike that Joss was making her do.

The problem with your comment is that the things with Spike, not just the sex scenes but the storyline (I read too she was against the attempted rape) showed a different side to SMG's acting potential.

Yes we've seen her deal with drama and tragedy before but these story lines took her from a teenager to an adult which would open things up.

Potentially this could have been used to get her into films better than the crapola that she has been in.

I have worked with actors and I haven't met one that has been in a role long term and not been passionate about who that character is. This character becomes a second personality to them, they have an understanding and an insight tht not even the writers have.
The writers put the words in the mouth but its the actors that take them, feel them and express them in a way that we connect with.

Thats why I believe IF (and it is a BIG IF) there were issues on set it was because SMG cared about her character.
 
I glad Buffy wasnt in Angels finale, there qouldnt have been much point by that time. I actually wish Angel wasnt in chosen either
