What would you guys rather see another story set pre-Serenity or post-Serenity?

Loving this. I miss Firefly, and I've wanted to see something new for a while now, but I thought it wouldn't have happened until after the next Avengers.

Personally, I wanna see Post-Serenity. I wanna see how River adjusts now that she's not burdened, I wanna see what skills she actually has and how she uses them now that she's sane. Well, saner. I wanna see how Zoe deals with Wash's death and the baby. Did Inara stay on the ship with Mal?

Yes I'm exactly the same! I've read some but not all of the cannon Serenity comics and it's mostly cuz they haven't moved forward with the verse.

I get telling unseen stories since the show was so short and they can use all the comics, but it always feel like a step forward after taking 3 back.

Oh I hadn't thought of that, but it would make sense to tie in comics with game, especially since they saw the news will be coming out over the next few months, the actual comic is a good while away.

Me too! Well, I guess it doesn't HAVE to be after Serenity. Presumably, they knew Miranda was in her head before she actually goes there. BUT it certainly seems like it's set after Serenity. Awesome.

I've always thought that the Nameless Operative could be an intriguing character in the post "Serenity" story line. He might even take the place of Book on the ship, with an arc dealing with how Mal, albeit begrudgingly, grants him sanctuary on "Firefly." Certainly someone with his knowledge would be an asset in some of their less than legal activities, whether they like and/or trust him or not.

Also, at some point, they are going to need a new pilot, unless River is going to take over that position.

Even though I'm not a huge Inara fan, I do like the cover. I think it has a very Jo Chen air to it.

Oh I do not like that....

The characters look off, they dont have the same sense of the characters that Chens do.

It looks like the cover for one of thise bad romance novels.

1. It doesn't look like a situation we would see Mal and Inara in. They are not at that stage of their relationship yet, they were still dancing around each other when Serenity ended. It's total fan baiting.

2. Inara is drawn far, far too white to be Inara. For a minute I actually thought it was River.

I thought it was river too, when I saw a smaller version earlier on Facebook, only realized it was Inara when I saw it here!

Mal also looks exactly like another actor, can't think of his name though, but that is not Nathans face!

I don't know how far after Serenity this is set, but given that there is a comic out there that shows a heavily pregnant Zoe, that would mean that at least eight months have past. A lot can happen in eight months.

Though people are going to be pissed if they don't see Mal and Inara admitting their feelings for each other and getting together.

A very obviously not pregnant Zoe. So, either the baby's already been born, or it's only been weeks after the end of the movie and she isn't showing yet.

Or, third option, they're scrapping the pregnancy arc altogether.

Thats a much better drawing then issue 1, it looks really like Gina, although the handcuffs look really out of place, like they were drawn in after with a different medium, lol

SPOILERS!

I went to a convention this past weekend, where Georges Jeanty was in attendance. Love that man so much.

Anyway, questions were asked about this new comic, which is six issues long and Jeanty confirmed that the comic takes place 9 months after the end of the movie. The opening few pages feature Zoe giving birth.

He also said that Inara is very changed and isn't the same person we used to know, so I don't know how to take that. And Kaylee and Simon are 'going at it like bunnies', lol.

Georges also talked a little about BtVS S10. He's not set to do any work on either of the main titles, but he could be asked to art any minis or one-shots that come about.
