Cool topic. I had to think about it for awhile but I think Willow/Oz is like me and my husband, at least when we were first going out. We worked together and I was...well I was the only girl so I had to deal with a lot of crap from the guys. I was always a little nerdy (although never half as smart as Willow) and was just kind of out there sometimes. He was always so quiet and just watching everything (although he was never as cool as Oz). We were friends and then next thing I knew we were engaged. He always stands by me even though I nearly crazy.
I had a serious Willow/Xander relationship when I was a kid, too. I always fall for the guys that are my best friend, lol. I haven't seen him since we were 16, though (although he showed up one time at my house and talked to my mom--I was away at college). I wish I knew where he was.
And I knew this girl that reminds me of Faith (although not psychotic). There was this girl Tricia that I hung out with in high school. The group of us were kind of the rejects (our loving term for ourselves). Most of the girls (I went to an all girl school so...) were really smart, top of the class kind of group, real nerdy, into sci-fi and such. I was smart but never really applied myself so skirted by on Bs. Tricia was kind of the same but she was such a bad ass. We got into it in the cafeteria one day over something. Most of the other kids were afraid of her because she wasn't afraid to throw down with anyone and was known for fighting and winning. I just refused to be afraid of her. I said something, she said something then kind of shoved me out of the way. I grabbed her wrist and she said something like "you shouldn't touch me, you don't know what I do to people that touch me." I just laughed and was like, "I'd like to see you try something." And then we stared each other down.
All our other friends were sitting there holding their breath like we were gonna have it out right there but nothing happened. She calmed down, I let go and I won her respect. we were allies after that--more like Faith after Angel got through to her. She was a really good person under her rebel persona. When our friends were being picked on (and that happened often) the other girls would just shrink away and pretend nothing going was going on. It was me or her that always stood up and said something and the other girls were terrified of her so it was good to have her backing you up.
