Which character changed most?

I think the people who changed the most were Wesley and Spike. The others grew up, which does mean changing, but Wesley and Spike changed for other reasons; they didn't have that growing-up thing in common.

People who changed the least: Xander, Giles, Angel, and Xander.

Angel also changes, maybe less than others..but he almost went evil,was/is a dad, works better in group now....

Haunted Rain has a point. All the others did grow up, from teens to twentysomethings, while Wes and Giles were already adults and presumably had mostly intact personalities. I disagree a little about Spike. He's still a contentious smartmouth, just like when he was a vamp. He may now feel remorse when doing bad, but so far he doesn't seem to be avoiding being "bad" for that reason. But the soul thing is a big change. I also think Xander has changed a lot. He's not so stuck on being a fightin' guy, he's settled into his role of fixing things and doing what he needs to do...not trying to rush out and take on the bad guys. He's stable income guy...a plus with this group, since the money factor was a concern in S6 and S7.

When I look at Giles, Angel, and Xander, they seem most like the same people they were when BtVS started. The least changed.

Spike for me haven't changed much....I also think that Anya has changed a lot..

I respect how you feel, but Spike was a blood sucking vamp who had a chip put in his head and then fell in luv with the slayer and although I haven't seen it yet, he then gets a soul! Transformarama!

Honestly, going back and reading everybody's answers, its hard to pick just one! I see everybody's defense for who changed the most and I think they all have!

That's because you are so beautifull open minded Chasity! You see the beauty in everything and the promise in everyone...you rock! 😉

I think Angel has changed, but not as much as some of the others. That's why I say "least changed". Least changed doesn't mean "not changed at all" and it doesn't mean anything bad, either. I love Angel. A lot.
Angel has gone through several changes, and come full circle, as it were, back to the same basically good guy/champ he was before, even a little better. But basically the same. He was a great guy seven years ago and he's a great guy now. He didn't need much character development to become a hero. He was a hero.
Same with Giles. ( And I loves me some Giles, too.) A little wiser, a little more open, a little more free-spirited, a little sadder. But, basically the same great guy he was seven years ago.
Xander. Everyguy then. Everyguy now. Seven years older. He grew up just like his peers, but he didn't change as much as any of them. He changed, yes, but not as much. That's the way he is. That's his role.

I agree Xander has changed the least.

I think Giles and Angel have as Mr. Pointy points out "realised their potential" to a certain extent. BTW isn't that growth? Isn't growth change?

Xander's potential is heart. He had it as a teenager, and he has it now. He didn't need to change.

I have to agree with the others who have said this before me that Buffy has undergone one of the biggest changes. She started out to be burdened by the whole Slayer responsiblities and then she starts to accept them more and by season 7 even enjoy them a little. She has also cheanged her approach to evil, In season 1 she hated vampires and killed them without much thought but looking at season 6 and 7 she actually started to talk to them before kicking their asses etc

Willow has gone through huge changes not just the whole Lesbian thing but from being an outsider to being a very important part of a group and becoming very powerful.

Giles had his share of changes to. He changed his whole perspective on how to train a slayer and to guide them as with Buffy this was needed lol

Everyone is saying that Cordy went through huges changes but I have to disagree, Yes she went from very b*tchy to and understanding kind person. But I think she had this in her anyway from the start, It was just the influence of her peers and her appearance that she had to keep up, I mean for example take Out of mind, Out of sight. The scene where she explained to Buffy how she was alone proved that she wasn't all b*tch lol

How bout Faith? She went through a hell of a lot of stuff

Yeah, Faith has had a rough go of it too. I'd like a bit more backstory for her...it would be cool to see a flashback of her first watcher, homelife etc. She'll always be flirting with the dark, but those are the heroes I relate to best...we all flirt with the dark from time to time. How we deal determines what kind of person we are. That's why I'm a S6 fan...Buffy's journey through the dark and out the other side was compelling!

Pretty much every character went through changes... I'd say Buffy, Spike, Faith, Cordy, Wesley, Dawn, and Willow went through the most.

Willow - She hasn't changed. She gained powers but that does not mean she changed. She still acts like the nerdy girl in high school.

Faith - She has stayed the same. She acted the same way good and evil. There was no growth.

Anya - No change here. Same girl she was when she first turned up.

Buffy - No change. If you watch season 1 eps and compare them to season 7 eps you will see it is still the same Buffy. 7 years and she was still complaining.

So now it comes to my choice. That is Wesley. Without a doubt he has grown the most as a character. Everything about him is different to what he was like in Buffy season 3. He reacts to situations differently, he fights differently, he dresses differently, he does his hair differently, he works in a group differently, he even talks a little differently to what he did before. I challenge anyone to come up with 5 things that Buffy Wes has in comman to Angel season 4 Wes. Don't do things like "both british". I want proper awnsers.
