My pick is Angel and Cordelia. I thought about Willow and Xander, but the way that Angel and Cordy grow together over the course of the Angel series is pretty incredible. As a friend, I don't think Angel was ever closer to anyone. I think they really fell in love with each other as friends (which was probably where they were both better suited), and they needed one another, not so much as lovers, but as true friends.

Angel and Cordy - but that was all over for me once it got romantic. They will always be great friends in my mind. For me, watching them kiss was like watching a brother and sister make out. Ick levels 10/10

imo I think Buffy/Willow/Xander have the pure friendship. They've been together as best friends since 10th Grade, battled the Hellmouth and it's evil together up until the episode "Chosen".

Angel and Cordy for me too. For me, they had the best, most sincere friendship in the whole verse. Even when they went through bad patches it was never through pettiness or bitterness, and they always found a way to get past it.

The friendship between the scoobies is one of my absolute favourite things about BtVS so I have to go with them.

The genuine, old, friendship between Xander and Willow is lovely to see imho.
And some of the best scenes in the entire show is when Buffy and Willow are hanging out together.

Angel and Cordy get my vote. They had a mutual respect and admiration for one another that we didn't get to see in all the other friendships.

I also really liked Angel and Doyle's friendship. Doyle seemed like one of the first people Angel ever opened up to; it's a shame we didn't get to see more of the two of them.

i think buffy and willow had a lovely friendship. i always loved seeing them hang out. but the scooby gang will always be my Favorite friendship, but i do agree about angel and cordy.

I think my top three would be: Angel and Cordy, Dawn and Tara (although we didn't see enough of it) and Buffy and Giles although I would consider that a bond rather than a friendship. All friendships that were endearing and felt the most realistic.

I would say Buffy and Spike, just to piss Miss K off, but in reality, I have to go with Willow and Xander. Throughout the series' entire 7 year run, and on into the comics, they were always there for each other, no matter what.

Plus there was that stuff about the yellow crayon and the Aquaman underwear. If something like that doesn't form an unbreakable bond, I don't know what would.

Angel and Faith, they kinda had a shared experience, that seemed to give them a quick bond and mutual respect for each other that I wish we got to see more of.

Angel and Cordelia, definitely. The entire romance was based on the friendship. They were never so open or happy as when they were friends.

Willow and Xander for me. Even when the writing was bad the two actors had an incredible chemistry and their interaction was the just terrific at giving us great small moments. Like betting on how long it would take for Giles to hit the library and start researching in When She Was Bad.

Either Willow/Xander or Tara/Dawn I think. There were only a few moments with the latter but it was sweet.

I love Dawn and Buffy's friendship. There's definitely some of that petty sister stuff, but it's still beautiful in the end and they love each other so much. I loved seeing them talk and hang out in the comics, wish we could see more of that!

BtVS is full of pure friendship. I'd even dare to say that friendship is the core of the show.

Some of my favorites;

Xander/Buffy
Angel/Faith
Buffy/Spike
Buffy/Tara

Always had a thing for Angel and Faith. They never even had much time together, they just snapped into these supportive, empathetic, affectionately snarky roles for each other as if they'd been born for it.

Definitely Angel and Cordelia, there is nothing that one could have done that the other would not have forgiven, and they always fought each others corner, even if one was wrong. Willow and Xander were also great, but had more of a sibling relationship, and it felt like they moved apart as the series progressed, whereas angel and cordy came closer and closer togethers. Plus cordy and angel shared a mission, and were both corresponding tools for the cause, which made them more linked.

I always thought angel and faith's relationship, had a strange purity to it, that was touched on in the series and is being futher explored in the comics. They also never give up on each other, no matter what the circumstances.
