Which characters would you be friends with?

I like Spike - there are parts of Spike I love but if I ever actually met him I suspect I'd never see any of the lovable parts and I doubt I would like him.

I love Wesley - Dark Wesley in particular. I think I would like to see him from afar but he intimidates me.

Like Fred but I would not understand a word she said.

Love Angel - but again there's that very small chance of seeing the lovable side in real life.

I really love Faith - and we might get along. I kinda ran a crisis center as a hobby - had kids live here if they needed a place - mainly friends of our daughters. (We ended up adopting the last one after 7 years here who really is a lot like Faith - mom is a psychotic crack whore and dad started raping her when she was nine - yeah, trust issues.) Faith I would feel at home with if she didn't try to switch bodies with anyone.

Xander would annoy me. I adore Giles but he's just so busy, and I think we'd have nothing in common. Gunn might be fun on occasion

In personality I think I'm most like Tara, with a twist of Willow. I'd really enjoy being with both of them, and with Faith on different days.
 
Angel, Buffy, Cordelia, Riley and Gunn. Oh, Giles too.
 
I think Doyle would be fun to hang with. Cares a lot for his friends, and he would be a good drinking buddy for sure.

I have a knack for getting along with adults, so I think Giles and I could be friends, if not an uncle figure to me.

Oz would be pretty fun to hang out with. He may be quiet, but we have a pretty similar sense of wry humor.

There are others I think I'd get along with, like Xander and Willow, but those three kinda come to mind.
 
It's a little obvious coming from me but I'll say it.... Buffy and Cordelia 😛

Giles, Angel, Wesley, Willow and Faith would be great too.
 
Fred, Buffy, Tara, good Willow, Cordy post BtVS, the two former watchers Giles and Wes, Angel probably, Gunn maybe and Lorne certainly. I'd get along with Dawn, but she's too young to be a proper friend, a peer. Xander is a maybe (Xander's style and humor gets old). Spike and Gunn just don't share as much in common with me, and our styles and personalities might also clash. But maybe it could work out; I wouldn't know until we tried.

On the one hand, I'm a real easy guy to get along with. It's really hard to meet someone I can't pass the time with one way or another. But on the other hand, I have a much smaller black thorn circle of really close friends, and to get into that circle isn't easy. A really deep and proven connection has to be made for that. Most Buffy/Angel characters could become casual friends of mine easily, but I don't know who (if any) could become inner circle type close friends, the kind I'd do almost anything for if they'd ask.

And Anya. I actually have a friend that frequently reminds me of her. It's uncanny.
 
Buffy and pretty much everyone from the AtS crew. I think Buffy and I would be great, great friends 😀

Pre-S3, I'd probably like most of the Scoobies. After S3? Well...none of them lol. Seriously, by S7 they're all kind of dicks.
 
Oz is my kind of person. The great thing about Oz is that this guy can actually listen, there aren't many BtVS characters that can do just that. Also, he's a guitarist in a 90s rock band, we could talk for hours about music and stuff.

Spike. Yeah, Spike. Spike's an ass and he's not a particularly good friend to anybody but well, I'm not either. I'd like to get to know the guy as a friend because that's not really something well explored on the show, yeah, there's Clem and Angel too but it doesn't strike me as the real deal.

Anya makes a great friend because she's one character that is completely free of any bullshit. She doesn't lie, she doesn't try to sugarcoat shit, Anya just tells you how it is. She's blunt, often rude but that's OK. I want my friends to be as honest with me as it gets.

Willow. I mean, Will's Will, all the good parts and the bad parts but when this woman is your friend, truly a friend, there is nothing she is not willing to do to keep you safe. She's pretty much suicidal about it. I'd love to have a friend like that.

Buffy? Honestly, I don't think we could stand each other.

I got me an eclectic mix of folk:

Oz- We could talk music/bands and stuff. The guy is Mr. Zen, he's just awesome.

Cordy- I like girls who are no bullshit- types. Cor would tell it like it is. Plus, she tends to see the lighter side of things, always.

acoustic rock god Giles- Get him away from his books and loosen him up and he's pretty much a grown up Oz, and he's English, so we have that in common. 🙂

Faith- Do I really have to explain why being her friend would be good? She's sexy, funny, exciting, hero-type in need of friends. Count me in.

Gunn- Rock solid down to earth type, kind of guy who always has your back. I like that.

Buffy- I like her lighter side and ditzy-ness, her wit and warmth and humour. Things that having (good) friends tends to bring out in her. 🙂

Tara- I've had shy friends before (I used to be pretty shy myself) and they always tend to be good listeners, reflectrive and intuitive, which are good things to be.
 
Willow and Fred- I would love to just spend time around them, with their little quirks and smartness. They're both gentle (except dark Willow) and nice and funny. We'd get a long well, nerding out.

Buffy-Even though I don't think me and Buffy would have a lot in common, cuz I'm not a girly girl, I think our sense of humour would work pretty well.

Faith- She needs friends. I think she would be a fun person to hang out with, always entertaining.

I don't think I'd be friends with any of the guys in the Buffyverse, except maybe Wesley and Oz. I love Oz!

Yeah, Buffy does not respond well to criticism, does she? Big ass ego and all but if she'd actually listen...oh, who am I kidding, she'd probably hate me even more. But still, I'd ask, I'd ask her like a friend So Buff, like, when do you want to start to live your life?

And the moment she starts the whole chosen one/badness/martyrdom/destiny bullshit routine I give her a rant the likes of which this board has never seen.

Xander and I would probably hit it off pretty well. An overweight carpenter with a bad eye and memories of Army service and an overweight electrician with bad knees and memories of Navy service. Hey, we'd practically be soul mates.

I would be willing to listen to some of Spike's bad poetry if he would return the favor and listen to my bad prose, then we would both be gracious and say that it was all good.

Faith and I would have a ball comparing edged weapons, discussing the merits of Bowie knives versus fantasy daggers, and maybe enjoying a quiet drink somewhere. She strikes me as a tequila girl.

I would LOVE to take Wes to the pistol range and show him what some real shooting is.

I'll leave the others for somebody else to entertain.

I'll be friends with anyone until they give me a reason not to. That would probably happen soonest with Cordelia, Xander, Spike, and, y'know, the standard bad guys.

My list is inverted. Sorry. 🙂
 
Who wouldn't I be friends with is more the question 😛

When you think about it, most of the Buffy crew and the Angel crew are a bunch of outcast, I tend to get along well with people out of the norm.

There's only a few that I probably wouldn't be friends with out of the main cast, including Cordelia (based on first impression on BtVS), Harmony, Connor and maybe Riley and Anya.
 
Angel, Buffy, Cordelia, Riley, Gunn and Oz. BFFS FOREVER! Not many people I wouldn't get along with. 🙂

Actually, I want to amend my answer somewhat. I feel like Riley would be an awesome friend. But then again, as an ROTC guy, I get along with military types very well.
 
I definitely feel like I could have a good time with Faith.
Oz is a given because... well why would one not get along with him? 😉
I think I could be on friendly terms with Angel too.

Beyond those three... maybe Fred. But otherwise I don't think I'd get along too famously with the rest 🙂
 
I imagine Lorne would be a ton of fun to be around. In fact, I can see myself getting along great with most of the Fang Gang (well, maybe not Illyria).

On the Sunnydale side, probably only Oz and Riley. Aside from Angel and the other BtVS characters who moved to AtS, Oz and Riley were the only two to escape the Hellmouth before the "Everyone's An Asshole" effect started to set it.
