I thought the dynamic with Angel and his team was better.

There should actually almost be a third option for this poll: The Scoobies S1-3. If that was on the table, with Angel, Cordelia, Faith, Oz, Jenny and Wesley part of it, I would have voted that way. I thought the way the relationships were constructed and played out, and the way the show progressed through them, was the best television I've ever seen.

Both post S3, I'd going with Angel's team. I thought they had better and deeper characters as the show went along, and the development of all of them reached a great climax in S5, and the addition of Spike only helped that.

To me, AI, right from the beginning with Angel, Doyle and Cordy to the very end with Angel, Spike, Wes, Illyria, Gunn, Lorne and Harmony (give or take Lindsey) was much more like a family than post S3 Buffy. They seemed really, really close to one another, and they felt like they needed each other. It always felt like it was them against the world, and I really liked that. It was a cool metaphor for life in your 20's when you're out of school and out on your own for the first time. I thought they nailed that.

Now, I liked the Scoobies. But after S3, there weren't nearly as many arcs with the group dynamic that pulled me in the way Angel did. I wasn't into Riley, Anya annoyed me endlessly, Xander/Anya didn't do much for me, Giles role in the show evaporated (which I didn't like), and I liked Willow less and less each season until S7. And, have to say it, while I liked her, Tara never felt as close to the group as Oz did to me. I really feel like losing Angel and Oz so close together threw the entire dynamic out of whack and they didn't really recover. And more than anything, Buffy, from her relationships with Riley and Spike to just the general feel of her place, always felt...isolated a bit from everyone else than she did in the high school years. But then again, I love Buffy, and I love the high school years, so maybe I'm just a bit biased that way.

Scooby gang, because I just like Scoobies better than Fang Gang in terms of individual characters. I care more about individual Scoobies, hence I care more about the Scooby gang and their dynamic.

I agree with Always Bengal, I enjoyed the Angel Investigation crew over the post s4 scoobies but the original scoobies, even only including Angel with Giles, Xander, Willow, and Buffy, was better.

Angel. I love Buffy a gazillion times more than I could ever love AtS but...I don't know. Ugh they all drive me insane! Willow irritates the crap out of me towards the end, Xander can be such an ass, Anya was a total bitca in some parts of season 7, "that doesn't make you better than us wah wah wah I'm sitting on my ass all the time!"

:'( I can't choose. Ugh. Ugh!!! Angel. They felt more like a family to me, which was interesting because I feel like they all had less in common than the scoobies. I can't vote because I am so unsure oh man. The Scoobies were much better in the beginning...but I just really enjoyed watching Angel, Cordy, and Doyle and then Angel, Cordy, Wesley, and Gunn and then those 4 plus Fred plus Lorne plus baby Connor 🙂...

*Alright, I'm voting...just for baby Connor*

Hm, I always thought that they were more like co-workers in S5, in the giant W&H...

I think that Angel's crew always felt more like co-workers than actually friends.
Only the original team with Angel, Cordelia and Doyle felt like close friends to me. From the moment they threw out Angel, and he had to beg to come back, it never felt the same again for me.

That doesn't mean I couldn't have enjoyed Team Angel more than the Scooby Gang though.
But I don't. 😛

Love to watch the scooby friendship. I also think it shines through all the way to the end.
Even though I would've preferred if we had seen much, much, more of it the last two seasons.

I just feel like after Buffy died and the scoobies brought her back that their chemistry was all off. Even after she came to grips with being back. Everything just felt like it was all about separate relationships, Buffy-Spike, Anya-Xander, Willow post terra, they never felt like the group they once were. I felt that Angel an co. were close. Even with Gunn, Wesley and Fred. Baby Connor brought them all even closer. I agree with Drizzlydaze about them all seeming separate in Angel s05 while working at Wolfram and Hart
