Which Joss show had the best theme song?

I think they're all amazing, but I'd give the very slight edge to Angel. I think it suits the theme and feel of the series perfectly. I love the Celtic feel to it as well. The full version of the Dollhouse theme song is pretty awesome too.
 
Well, I always found that the Buffy theme was the best, but now the Firefly theme is slowly creeping to the top. First I thought it's kind of weird, because it changes its key within a few bars several times, which sounds quite strange, but now it's just awesome. I especially like the instrumental Big Damn Movie version.

For me it's Firefly. I love all the theme songs (not the extended version of the Dollhouse one though) but Firefly always really stuck out to me as original and a perfect fit for the show.

Isn't also the Firefly theme the only theme song of the four shows that was written for the show? I think the others were just songs that already existed and were used as intros. The Firefly theme was written by Joss.
 
I'm hesitating between Firefly and Angel. Buffy is good too, but would come in second. And Dollhouse in 3rd.
 
Not sure what I've answered before on this... but at the moment I would say that Firefly is my favorite.

Buffy's theme has a certain quality though that never fails to transfer me into a good Buffy watching mood.
It doesn't matter how crappy I feel, Buffy's theme always make me happy somehow.

Amazing as they all are it's gotta be buffy for me. That theme tune always reminds me how cool buffy is and always brings back memories. Angels theme would be 2nd though.

I believe they were all written specifically for the shows actually 🙂, that Nerf Herder were hired to come up with something for Buffy (not so sure about that one however so I might be grossly wrong), I think I read that several bands were asked to come up for something for Angel but that Darling Violetta's submission was chosen and listening to the lyrics of Jonatha Brooks song for Dollhouse I'm more than convinced that it was made for Dollhouse (then chopped up in order to utilize the only part of the song that wasn't awful...)

But that said I think that Firefly's theme was special because it was crafted by Joss who probably had a very clear idea of what he wanted. The others to my knowledge were written by 'hired hands' and though well fitting and very good they don't quite measure up the same way that the Firefly theme does. They also fit the model of a 'typical' theme song in my mind, whereas Firefly's theme is more unique 🙂

So I did a little reading and you're right. The Angel theme was written specifically for the series and they hired various local bands for Buffy theme ideas and the production staff chose Nerf Herder's theme. I don't know about the Dollhouse theme, though. Couldn't find anything where they say if it was written for the series or if it existed before that.
