You're not wrong, to quote Xander Harris, but neither am I in my usage. Historically, a pagan was a follower of a polytheistic religion. From a Christian perspective it has traditionally been a person whose religion is not Christianity (a heathen.) In terms of literature, it has been used to mean a non-religious or only partially religious hedonistic person.

Thank you for informing a new member about the greatness which is Black Thorn. We're the best. Period. Oh, and as much as I hate spread gossip, here are a few things about Sineya that aren't widely known:

  1. Many of them aren't potty trained.
  2. They have a HUGE meth lab in their dorm.
  3. On Thursday nights, they have a polka competition.
  4. Quite a few of them are nearsighted.
  5. Recently, one of them was "accidentally" killed during an intense game of Uno.
  6. While Black Thorn members reside within a lovely 70-room Gothic castle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, Sineya lives in a large trailer park by a swamp. In Shreveport, Louisiana.
  7. The last time they attended a party, their "unique" dancing led another attendee to believe he was witnessing an 'epilepsy event.' Paramedics were immediately called!
  8. They been spotted shoplifting at various businesses.
  9. None of them has ever had a pedicure, or wear, shoes so when they're out for a walk, they leave velociraptor foot prints everywhere
  10. Five of them are Russian spies.

I would've said the same thing...before this damned heatwave came along. 🥵

I'm constantly spraying my face with cold water and it feels like HEAVEN. A plastic sprayer bottle filled with cold water is always nearby. And I sit between two oscillating fans, so as long as I don't move I'm fine. I absolutely DREAM of getting AC one day...

Outside = bad. Inside = good. Sun = bad. Night = good.

It's been pretty bad here of late as well, Anyanka. I have apartments above, below, and beside me, so this place can get to be like a tinderbox on a hot day (especially since one of our numbers isn't well and has his heat on sometimes even when it's warm out.)

When I was fourteen, I worked at a fair, in one of the eating establishments, and with the oven under the tent, it got ridiculously sweltering in there. We would put ice cubes from the fountain drink stand under our hats and just let them melt. It was really helpful, but not for very long.

Yeah, this is essentially the set-up I have here. One in front of me and one to the side. I make sure I've done everything I'm gonna have to for the near future, and then, once settled, I just pretend I'm being chased by a T-Rex. No sudden movements.

I have one, but the problem is that it's not powerful enough (doesn't have enough BTU or whatever the heck they call it) to cool the whole apartment, and the only room I could put it in (since it needs an outside window for exhaust) was the kitchen. So it helps some, but when it's really hot, nowhere near enough.

I concur with this assessment. I'm essentially a vampire. Only I have all of their weaknesses and none of their strengths. Sort of a reverse Blade. It's not very helpful, really.

To be honest, I've got a few people I chat to in DMs but everyone here makes the place what it is past & present. I wouldn't fancy picking one person out and then making who I didn't mention feel like crap because they got left out unintentionally. 🤪
However if you ply me with Baileys I may change my mind lol

This is why I ened mine with "but everyone here has been super friendly." It's true, and it allows that anyone I might have overlooked at the moment realizes that I still appreciate them and what they bring to the Boards to make it the community it is. Of course, I have the benefit of being new here, so I guess overlooking anyone would be less impactful.

Though, on that note, since I've been here a wee bit since I made the original post, I'd like to add Pix ( @thrasherpix ) to my list. She's not only put up with my verbosity, but responded in kind. 🙂

And Met ( @HowiMetdaSlayer ), who followed me, even though I made her sleepy with all my talking -- though I suppose she may have just needed a sleep aid. 😛 And Blue ( @DeepBlueJoy ), who somehow discovered my secret identity as Pices Man. 😉

Still nothing negative to say about anyone else. I haven't been sacrificed to any gods yet. I think I'm doing okay.
