I'm looking at buying a netbook (sub notebook), mainly for work, They're paying of course, but also for leisure. I've always had a laptop but this should allow me to stay online for much longer, particularly while I'm out and about. Does anyone have any expeirience of these ultraportables and any tips as which is the best: Asus eee, Acer Aspire, the new Dell Inspiron mini 9 or other. Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I have had an Acer before but it was less than reliable. I would get the new Mac one, or Dell.

Much as it pains me to say this, the new Mac laptops aren't sub-notebooks, which Selig was asking about...get a Mac...I have to ask which OS do you favour Selig? The current crop of netbooks come in Windows XP and Linux flavours...and I believe, if you know what you're doing, you can actually convert to the mighty Mac OSX. Our local PCWorld had a netbook at less than 200 quid and Tesco had a similar 'puter for £179 recently...I think they were both Acers with a Linux based OS but I could be wrong...get a Mac 😉
