Which Whedonverse show had the best crew?

I'm not talking sheer power here (The Avengers might have the edge in that one), but more which had the most entertaining and interesting group. Not really who is your favorite character that Joss has created or been in charge of, but which group do you think meshes the best together. From there it's up to your criteria.

I picked Team Angel. While I thin that Buffy is probably a better show, I thought that the Angel team really became an incredible group. If we're talking Buffy up until S3, it's a coin flip for me though.

BtVS from S1 to S3 definitely had the best core group, but overall I preferred the Fang Gang - they felt more like a family throughout the show (despite sometimes losing a member). They were all adults working together, so it was a different dynamic than Buffy.

I honestly would say Firefly. The group dynamic is so interesting. They come from different economical , social, and ethnic backgrounds, yet while watching them in action, there's no denying that they're family.

This is almost exactly my feeling as well. Buffy in S2 and S3, with Angel, Oz, Faith, Cordeila and Jenny, and when Xander was at his best, had the best overall characters I think. But the dynamic that develops with Angel Investigations, which I think is really anchored by Cordy, is pretty amazing.

This is yet another reason why I hated Firefly getting cancelled so soon. Look at how awesome the chemistry is on Serenity. It's that good and that fun after one season. One season that wasn't even a fully stocked 22 or 23 episodes. If they'd had more time, Firefly might have been my pick here.

I think the Firefly crew is great. It covers many different social groups and the single characters complement each other really well. Each character has their own strengths, flaws and quirks. I think it's incredible how many different themes and (unfortunately unexplored) character story lines they put in that show. The main cast is just so colorful and it's so much fun seeing them interact.

Firefly. As a group of actors and characters they seemed to have the best rapport with one another right from the off. Although they are all different enough that it is is never dull, no matter which characters are on screen at any given time. Zoe and Jayne are both warrior types, but one is a committed soldier and a loving wife while Jayne is a dick who is in it for the profit...or is he??? Then you have the mental one, the funny one etc and together they were all great.

None of the characters are exactly what the appear to be either, and the depth they were given from the very first episode was brilliant. This is helped by the fact that it is clear that the actors all got on well together and continue to do so to this day. I love all of Joss' stuff and his characterisation is, for me, what makes him such a great writer, and for the crew of Serenity, he got it dead on.

It was a hard enough choice between BTVS, ATS, and Firefly... but you had to add The Avengers as well???? I am just at a total loss. I thought all of the casts meshed together so well.

It was really hard for me to choose between BtVS and Firefly, but in the end I chose Firefly. I loved how this group of vastly different misfits came together to be such a family...

Hmm....this is tuff. I'll just have to go with where my heart lies and say the BtVS crew. They were the originals afterall. (We'll just omit the later seasons when they all turned on B) 😀

I jumped onto the FireFly bandwagon too. I know they only had one season but in that season they were solid and trusted each other mostly lol.

I haven't watched all the shows (blasphemy, I know!), so I'll refrain from voting. I will comment on BtVS and AtS, though: BtVS crew was very closely bonded except for S4, S6, and S7. So... not so much with the consistency. AtS crew was great, but I did think they drifted apart a lot in S5, where they were all more like coworkers than friends.

Its difficult to pick. If I hadnt watched Firefly my first choice would have been Buffy. I do prefer the team in Seasons 1-3 but I dont mind them throughout the 7 seasons. Yes, there were characters that got on my nerves (Dawn) and werent always likeable (depending on your viewpoint: Xander/Giles/Spike), but each character fit very well into the development of the show. Dawn's character was annoying but anyone who has a younger sibling can probably agree that thats exactly how younger siblings act. Plus as the show developed more characters were added giving the audience a wider range of people to relate to.

That's were I think Firefly does really well. It doesnt just have 4 main core characters to get involved with it has 9 right from the start. They all are different but they work really well together as a team. They also have similar screen time, its not just focusing on one person. Its just a shame that the show only lasted one season 🙁

You did also put Avenger's in there which I love and I thought that team was really well put together. It wasnt just here's 6 super heros and they all get on and save the day. It looked at how egos clash, it showed people struggling with their powers and it mixed non superhuman people with very powerful Gods.

I guess I'm cheating and picking these 3 🙂
