I was just wondering what everyone thought would be the best spin-off show? I just thought it would be interesting because in the Whedonverse there are so many opportunities to make these shows because the characters are so complex.

I voted for the Fanged Four because they are my favorite characters and I just love the flashbacks so an entire show devoted to them would be amazing. :: vampire

even though we know there is no chance of any of this happening, as a silly little fan girlie, i'd just LOVE to see a Spike spin off, but as a mature adult fan of the story, characters, actors and writers, i know that we've got more chance of seeing Sarah pick up the role of Buffy again than we have of seeing a Spike spin. i hate to say this, but James, even though he is still one of the most beautiful men on the face of the Earth, is getting too old to play a vampire who doesn't age.

Spike aside, the only other spin off i think could possibly work would be the Faith option. Faith has the fan following to make it a possibility, and Eliza has the acting ability and star quality to carry her own show, as we saw with Tru Calling.

but saying that, the only option of a spin off that's possibly still on the table is the Ripper story. althought, i think we're all still unclear as to what that's going to be about.

I am right there with you on Spike. I love James but he is getting a bit to old for the role of Spike. He is still gorgeous though I cannot wait to see him the movie PS I Love You. =)
I voted for Ripper.

I'd love to see the fanged four, but they're just getting to old to do a show about ageless characters in their baddie vampire days. Also, I'm not sure how that would work. I mean, they work great as flashbacks, but a show about them running amok and killing people for a few centuries? Every night would be the same: new night, new gory murder and new messed up incestuous home life.

So Ripper got my vote. I'm not sure whether it would be about young Ripper or post-Chosen Giles or maybe about post-Chosen Giles with flashbacks, but I think there is still a lot of territory to be explored on that front. Also, I'd get to feed my insatiable Giles addiction. Gosh, I do love Giles!

I voted for Faith. I hadn't really thought about it before but since her arc in the comic, I've fallen comletely in love with the character again. I just feel there is so much to explore with her. I'd love to see her back in Boston and see what her life was like pre-Buffy.

Think if I ask for Faith The Vampire Slayer for christmas that I'll get it?

My vote went to Spike simply for the reason that I want to see more about him and, as has been pointed out, he is quickly approaching the age when playing an immortal 25-year-old just won't be possible. A movie fairly soon where he either Shanshues or for some other logical reason begins to age would solve the problem, and he could continue playing until he starts drawing Social Security.

Faith would be my second choice, not because I would want her show later as much as that of all of the group, she is the youngest and would therefore have the most time to wait before reprising her part.

I voted for Willow...What can i say, she's my favorite character and i would have loved to see more of her

Faith I voted for. But Faith or Willow would be really cool, or Giles, or Spike actually. But I don't see any of them happening soon... besides Ripper. 😉

I voted for Ripper. It's just too tempting to resist. I love the idea of exploring Giles' past, but I'd be happy if it was about post-chosen Giles or season 6 Giles as the actual spin-off is planned to be about. Damn, I really hope that doesn't fall through. I really want it to come to air.

Well I'd love too see even a miniseries set during Willow's year out during season 7 and 8. But then I realised we'd have to watch Kennedy too...that and Alyson has visually changed too much and in all fairness I don't think she could carry an entire show as a title character bless her.

Spike would require fitting it in with "After the Fall" which would be very diffcult on the production staff, wouldn't do that to them so a Fang Gang Years thing would be cool, but would need all other three Vampires in the mix, David is tied up with Bones (ok how weird did that sound), Julie and Juliet I dunno if they're working right now.

Faith...I don't like Faith, and yes the Vampire Slayer show thing is very much Buffy's thing and we have 7 years of that and an endless amount of fiction, books and now a comic book season of her. Faith arc's I can live with, a show? no.

Anything with the lesser characters and Scoobies wouldn't carry enough weight story wise so I'm not sure about a Xander or Ox series lol.

So with the one off "Ripper" 90 minute special on the BBC next year I'd like to see it spark off a miniseries with Giles set in the modern day but dealing with cases that give us flashbacks to his Ripper days, unfolding entertainingly over a series. That and I just wanna see Giles on screen again 😛

Heck, give us a Giles/Faith miniseries and the odd Spike stand alone story and give something for everyone.

Haha..comprehensive! How did the comic book raid of Belfast go?
That's a tough one...either Faith or 'The Fanged Four', because both of those storylines would be cool to go into 🙂

Given the choices, I have to go with Willow, since she's my favorite character anyway. But I'd have loved a "Tales of the Slayers" anthology, with each 1- to 4-episode arc following one or more of the new Slayers - and an occasional guest appearance from some of the original cast.

Yeah that is a great idea!
I voted for Faith the Vampire Slayer.
It's the only one I could actually see happening, for real. Also, I do love Eliza Dushku, so it'd be nice to see her getting work. 🙂
