In Becoming, I can't remember if its part 1 or 2, Buffy is at Giles apartment and Whistler is there. He talks about the sword and Buffy says she's got nothing left to lose, then she walks away while Whistler says something like "wrong kid, you've got one more thing". I was wondering what he was talking about. Is he referring to Angel, cause he'll get his soul back or is it some kind of foreshadowing? I have just never been sure about that part.

I think it was love, maybe he somehow sensed that eventually she was going to have to kill him and lose him.

I thought the same, that he was reffering to Angel getting his soul back and her losing him 🙁

I think he meant her life....remember what Angel says later on that episode when he asks her when you take away everything else, what's left? And she says me. That to me is the one thing she had left to lose.

I agree with Rayne and Foi, and kind of with Jacklyn although I'm thinking more "self" than actual life.

Here's the way it actually played out towards the end of Becoming 2

Cut to the atrium. Angelus plays with his sword, idly pointing it at
Buffy. She looks up at him, frightened.

Angelus: Now that's everything, huh? No weapons... No friends... No
hope.

Buffy closes her eyes and steels herself for whatever's coming.

Angelus: Take all that away... and what's left?

He draws the sword back and thrusts it directly at her face. With
lightning-fast reflexes she swings up with both arms and catches the
blade between the palms of her hands. She opens her eyes and meets his.

Buffy: Me.

I suppose it could mean all of your thoughts, but i generally thought it was her life, but then looking at other narrative like "restless" and the introduction of Dawn, it could be a froeshadowing moment for the future seasons.
