In the episode who are you we see Eliza Dushku attempting to play Buffy, and SMG being Faith but pretending to do be Buffy. So who do you think pulled it off better? For me I thought that E actually did a better job of being Buffy then SMG did of being Faith.

Eliza stole the show in this ep tbh.
I think they both did a good job but I agree that eliza portrayed Buffy better although I think thats because there is such a big contrast to her usual role. Sarah hadn't got the attitudr needed to play Faith that Eliza naturally brings to the role.

I think they both pulled it off very well.

You always see these movies where people switch bodies, and they usually don't actually act like each other. Like in Freaky Friday, the mother acts like a regular teenaged girl and the daughter acts like a regular Mom. They never add any individual personality to it.

SMG and Eliza, I don't know how they did it, but they truly had their opposing character personalities perfectly. Just the way they even walk and talk is just how they do in their real bodies, and I was definitely impressed by how they did it.

Yer I think they both did awesome! SMG did all the great body movements like Faith's shrug things she does and her facial expressions! And Eliza did fantastic as Buffy, especially that scene when she says to Giles, 'stop inching, you were inching' and

GILES:
How did I turn into a demon?
BUFFY:
Oh! 'Cause, uh, Ethan Rayne. And-and you have a girlfriend named Olivia. And you haven't had a job since we blew up the school --which is valid, lifestyle wise. I mean, it's not like you're a slacker type, but . . . Oh, oh! When I had psychic power, I heard my mom think that you were like a stevedore during sex. Wh--? Do you want me to continue?
GILES:
Actually, I beg you to stop.
BUFFY:
What's a stevedore?

The way she says, 'cause, uh, Ethan Rayne' and 'what's a stevedore' is SO SMG as Buffy!!! Haaa

That was the scene that clinched the decision for me
I know! Just the way they spoke, it was amazing. I actually felt like Eliza and SMG switched bodies. 😛 I wonder how they studied for this role. Did they watch each other do things and learned how they acted or something? Because they're both spot on with each other.

I was blown away by both of them, really. I thought both of them definitely had moments that had me thinking they were the better actress, but for me, I'd say Eliza did better portraying Buffy in Faith's body.

Yeah I loved both of them as well, but I was really really impressed with Eliza in that episode. She spoke perfectly. And even had all the really accurate "Sarah" facial expressions.

I love this episode. It's always been one of my favorites.

Though I totally agree that both ladies did great jobs portraying each other's character, I do think that Sarah went a bit overboard with the "slut Faith" routine, but that could be explained by saying that she was trying to destroy Buffy's reputation while stealing her body.

I just rewatched this episode, and I have to agree that Eliza's portrayal as Buffy was perfect. Even just the facial expressions reminded me of SMG.

At one point, I actually got confused thinking she was SMG. 😀 I know that sounds so silly, but it's true. When Eliza staked the vampire from behind in the church, she had that SMG face on her, and I was like "Wait, is that Eliza or SMG?"

Should of put a poll up....anyways yeah I couldn't decide either since they both did amazing...Eliza did very well although I always considered SMG a better actress overall

I agree that SMG is overall the better actress, but in this particular ep I think Eliza outdid herself
Although they both did very well, I actually found that Sarah did a slightly better job. There are certain facial expressions she makes where I'm just convinced that that's really Faith in Buffy's body, lol.

For me one of the reasons why Eliza did a slightly better job in this ep, was because SMG's job was more complicated. She was Faith pretending to be Buffy. Though she did through in a little bit of Eliza's south Boston accent

I'm extremely surprised that I'm in the minority on this one. I do agree that they both did an amazing job. However, I always thought that Sarah's was just so spot on. Whenever I watch an episode like this I like to imagine the original actress saying the line after the other one is saying it. Whenever I did this with Sarah I could just hear Eliza's delivery being the same and it sounded like Faith to me. Just the entire thing felt right.

As for Eliza, I felt she did a good job but I didn't get the same feeling. There were a few lines she was perfect at but others I wasn't quite so impressed. However, this is one of my favourite episodes so...🙂

I'm with BananaBuffy on this one. SMG knocked it out of the park. 🙂 Eliza was okay, but a little weird at times.

I always thought Sarah did the better job. I loved Eliza as Buffy but Sarah was awesome. Its funny since Eliza's my favorite lol.

Definitely on team sarah here. I think Eliza was great as well but sarah just absolutely nailed it for me.

Sarah is a very good actress, and she played well the bad girl. But I didn't alway got the sense of Faith from her. It was just a bad girl, and it didn't really scream "FAITH", just a bad girl.

Eliza is not a very good actress IMO, except when she played Faith, that she played very well. And although seeing her as a good girl, it was hard to see that, so not Faith. So she did well the non-Faith part, and at times I could really sense Buffy.

Overall, Sarah is a better actress, she played the bad girl very well. But I sometimes didn't see Faith in her, which I did in Eliza as Buffy.

(I feel like I messed everything hard lol 😀 )

I thought Eliza playing Buffy did a better job, she just had all the manerisms aswell as the way SMG spoke. It was a really interesting episode. I'm not saying SMG did a bad job at playing Faith, I just don't think she really got into her skin as well as Eliza did 🙂

Like I've said, I do think that over all that SMG is the better actress, but in this one case Eliza had the better performance. Now that being said, I sometimes think that maybe the reason for this was that SMG had the more difficult job. She was trying to show Faith pretending to be Buffy, rather then just Buffy in a different body which is what Eliza was attempting to show.

I agree with ticonderouga, I also think SMG had a harder job for the reasons stated but also because she couldn't fall into "bad girl" cliché acting without it getting ridiculous. So she had to believable as "bad-girl" Faith trying to suppress her natural attitude while letting that very attitude shine through for the viewer to see. A tough feat no doubt which I think she did well with.
