From each character's first season to their last (or till today), they've changed, they got older, they got worse or better. They've changed in so many ways, and that's a part in the show that I really like. The characters are still them, but their lives changed along with them. There's a big difference from their first season to their last.

Who do you think changed the most?

Willow. In season 1 she was a nerd in school, was never really accepted by anyone and had no self-conficdence! She loved boys and didn't knew much about magic. Instead she had big computer-skills. After season 7 she doesn't use the computer very often and she become one of the most powerfull witches. She has a big self confidence and everybody looks up to her. She become bi-sexual and had a break-down because of Tara. The only thing that was always Willow was her great abillitys at school and university! She made a big (character)change and so the hole show made a big change !

I think we saw the most character development from Willow and Spike. I didn't like the direction we saw Willow go in, but I will admit it was an interesting journey to watch.
Spike, on the other hand, was a brilliant change. I remember watching it going "No way?! He's falling in love with Buffy!!!" and watching him struggle with that was so awesome. I always laugh at the scene where he's practicing what he's gonna say with the box of chocolates and gets pissed off and knocks the crap out of the mannequin. LOL
It wasn't until Season 7 that I realized he was truly in love with her... At first I kept sitting on the fence about whether or not he was in love or just infatuated. But I think his actions in Season 7, especially in "Empty Places" make it very clear.

I think Willow and Wesley.. They changes incredible much during the seasons of BtVS and AtS.
Also, Spike changed. But I don't think he did as much as the two others. Also Cordelia changed quite a lot.

I'd say Spike and Wesley. They both had tons of character development. Willow is right behind them.

Willow. By season 7 she was a completely different person than the one we met back in season 1. She changed in just about every possible way.

Cordelia and Wesley are probably the obvious ones. They just had loads of character development in there.

I agree, Willow changed. Not necessarily for the better. The more and more the seasons passed, the less and less I could relate myself to her. I suppose, Joss wanted people to gain confidence along with her, but that's easier said than done.

I think Anya changed a great amount as well. She really became human, which was inspiring.

Difficult choice really as they all changed and progressed as life does that to you let alone what they had all experienced.

I think Willow, Spike, Cordy, Doyle, and Faith.

I would like to say Giles. Mihihihi. No.

I think Spike changed a lot, but I felt that there was always glances of what he would become, allready from the start you could tell he was a softy. Same with Cordy, she changed soo much, but even in the earlier seasons of Btvs you could tell she had a soft, caring side, even if it wasn't that developed then. 🙂

So I'm saying Willow. A lot of her personality became really different as the show progressed, I didn't always like it, but it was always interesting to watch!

I'm thinking Wesley. He seemed like a completely different character by the end.
Personally I prefered the earlier, more clumsy, Wesley. The bad ass Wesley we got later was much more boring and a type of character we already seen in others.

Willow also changed quite a lot. But I like to think that she still was very much the same on the inside. 🙂

I don't think Spike changed that much though. Even after getting a soul he seemed to maintain most of his traits.
