Who COULDN'T you live without?

Xander. Duh! I wouldn't even have watched the show if he wasn't there.

To be honest, the show wouldn't be the show without every single character in it.
 
Tara, Anya, Cordelia, Oz, Willow, Xander, Buffy of course, Spike, Faith, Andrew 🙂P), Drusilla, Fred, Jenny, Wesley, earlier season Amy, and our one and only Giles.
 
The core four: Buffy, Xander, Willow and Giles. Their friendship provided the core of the series, they were a perfect team that balanced eached other wonderfully. They all had fantastic chemistry with each other. They are, for me, what made this series.

Even though Faith, Angel, Cordelia and Anya are characters I prefer on their own, I could live without them. None of them are what BtVS is all about: the core four is.

Word. The show was never the same after the writers had the "revelation" that they better put the emphasis on Buffy's relationship with Dawn or William The Bloody Moron. Because it's not as if the Scooby friendships were the foundation of the show or anything...

Buffy and Willow foremost. If the show was sans any other recurring character it'd still be fun for me. But yeah, Xander makes a third, then Tara. Then Spike, and then Giles.
 
I'm also a core four fan. The show is at its best when the scoobies works together as a unit with great friendship.
So I'll say Buffy, Willow, Xander and Giles.

Buffy - she's my all time favourite character. I grew up with her, I love her flaws, I love her shiny parts.

Anya - Seriously, show, or my look on sarcasam wouldn't be the same without that woman.

Bangel - they taught me what love is.

Willow: It definitely would NOT be the same without her. I just love her character SO much. How she developed throughout the series. I loved everything about her character up until the decided to trade magic = "lesbian sex" to magic = "drugs". But I still loved Willow and that she got through that, so I guess I just don't like what the writers did. 😛 lol

Tara: She made Willow who she was meant to be, the show wouldn't have as much appeal without Willow and Tara in my opinion...

Anya: She was totally the comic relief after Cordy left. I didn't like Cordelia actually til I watched angel, but Anya was one of my favorites right off. The friend that introduced me to Buffy said I'm Anya. I had no idea how right she was as to how alike I am to her. lol I love her developent from Demon to human, I love her with Xander and she's hilarious with her sexual bits. And bluntness

Dawn: I can totally relate to her in so many ways. I love her so much and don't think I'd like the later seasons as much without her. Her transformation from a bratty little teen to a woman is just so great. I love it. Plus she's adorable!

Xander: He cracks me up and he's the heart of the group. I love him.

Spike: He's hot, he's funny, he's English...um, what else do you need to say? 😉

Buffy: she had the funniest lines sometimes, I can totally relate to how she thinks. "The whole nine yards of what?" I thought about that even before watching Buffy and went crazy when she said it. I was like "ME TOO!" lol Her character of course made the show. Without Buffy we wouldn't have the show! Buffy was the blonde hot kickass chick you wouldn't even expect and I love her for it!

I don't think Angel would be the same without any of the characters, they all brought something special to thew show that I loved, but without Cangel or Fred or Lorne it would definitely not be worth watching. 😛
 
I could live without any specific character but for me to love the show the way I do now? Well Willow is who's made the most impact over the years so I guess her but it's really an ensamble show. The core four are in the center of attention and hence very important but I'm not sure how much I'd like the show without most of the other characters. I'm guessing nowhere near as as much.
 
I feel like I answered too rashly... haha I said Spike and I mean Spike... but I didn't think I would have to include members in the core 4, I thought it would be understood. I could live without Xander and Giles... but not Buffy and Willow. I could live without Anya although I wouldn't ever want to... same to Tara. Well that's a lie. I couldn't live without either one of them ever being in the show but I dealt with Tara leaving so I could do that... and I could deal if Anya left at some point, although again... I would never want to.
