Many characters have fights against each other(both punchy fight and exchanging words fights). Who do you cheer for in those fights?

For example, Buffy and Faith's fight in Graduation Day pt. 1 - who do you cheer for when you watch that scene?

Or another example, who do you cheer for after Buffy comes back to Sunnydale after Becoming and everybody is attacking her?

It's almost always Buffy. A lot of characters piss me off, yet Buffy rarely does (Some S7 she is annoying though)

And Wesley (Ats). I'm always on his side.

I always side with Buffy as we see things mostly from her perspective. In Angel I side with Connor and Wes most of the time, they've both been through a lot and yet are still human, so their actions are understandable.

I usually side with Buffy. Especially in things like Dead Man's Party and Empty Places. She had reasons for doing what she does. Buffy's the good guy, the hero. Even when she fights Faith, who should be a hero, but isn't.

Buffy and Angel share top billing for me. Although, I must say, I think I "cheer" for Buffy more, simply because I always feel like she needs that kind of support more. I can't think of a single confrontation she has had with the Scoobies where I wasn't on her side.

I cheer for Buffy all the time.

However, when Spike and Angel duked it out for that cup, I was totally rooting for Spike. And not just because he's my favorite character. Spike spends a lot of time getting stomped on and I just really didn't want him to be that time.

More or less this. Buffy and Angel are my favorites and they're the ones I usually cheer for in any situation. When Buffy came back in season 3 I was definitely on her side.

There's one person I side with more then Angel though on Ats... and that'd be Connor. Kind of like Kean said above about Buffy it's probably because I think he's more in need of support.

Usually I side with Buffy. It's very rare that I would side with anyone else.

Kean agrees: Even Xander?

I meant in Buffy's fights. Of course if Xander's involved, I usually side with him. LOL No, in all seriousness, if it's a group fight, I tend to side with whoever makes the most sense. Sometimes that's Buffy, sometimes that's Willow or Giles or whoever. In the group fight scenes, though, all of them tend to make good points but none of them are completely in the right, which is what I love about the group fight scenes; it's hard for any one character to be completely wrong.

Even Xander?
Buffy, it's always Buffy. She kinda grew on me, and I came to understand her in all of her squabbles.

Only in Xander/Cordy/Willow thing I was on Xander/Cordelia side. I understood Willow, but I was never on her side.

Im on Buffys side unless its Faith and then Im Faith all the way. I think its nice sometimes to see the underdog win.

I always rooted for Faith, because everybody sees her as "the other Slayer," no matter what she does, how hard she tries, if ANTYHING screws up, it's automatically her fault, and nobody ever gives her the benefit of the doubt in anything.

I'm back for a bit! Then leaving again for a while next week. 🙂

So let's see...it depends of course. Quite often, I side with Buffy. But there are times when I side with others when they are in direct confrontation. This changes, too, as I get older. For example, my 15 year old self sided passionately with Buffy in The Prom. Now, I side with Angel. He did the right thing, for sure. (Not sure he needed to leave town, but he did need to let her move on.)

Dead Man's Party? I used to side with Buffy every time I saw the scene. Now, I side more and more with Xander. Couldn't she have called the Scoobies, and her mother, to let them know she was alright? She could have had her space and given them peace of mind at the same time. She needed to think about them as well, regardless of the tragedy that had just befallen her.

The Gift? Buffy vs Giles? I think it changes on every rewatch. Giles's perspective makes more sense every time I watch. But then I shudder and don't want to think about it anymore.

Empty Places? Buffy. Don't think that will ever change.

LMPTM? Pffft. Seriously.

And then there's Spike. The guy makes so much sense to me, (when he's not doing something blatantly evil of course). When he comes to Buffy in Becoming 2. The argument with Bangel in Lover's Walk. Pangs. "You annihilated his people. What could you possibly say to him..." From Intervention onward, I side with him quite frequently in arguments/confrontations, (with the obvious exception of the AR)--post Intervention, I often at the very least understand where he's coming from and am rooting for him even if I don't agree wholeheartedly with what he's saying or with his method of delivery.

I almost always side with Buffy. Especially in the punchy-fighty scenes. There are some moments where I don't, though. Like in Season 3 when Angel comes back and she hides it from the Scoobies. I understand where she's coming from, but I can't "cheer" for her there.

On AtS I usually cheer for Cordelia, Angel, or Lilah. It really depends on who is involved in the situation.

In Angel-Spike altercations I usually cheer for Spike. Not necessarily because I think he's in the right, but more so because I feel like he needs it more? I don't know. It's weird.

The only time I wasn't really rooting for Buffy was when she fought Anya in Selfless
I didn't want anyone to lose/win
