who do you find annoying in angel the main characters?

At times Fred annoyed me. When she tries to show emotion her voice becomes quite jarring. There's a scene with Gunn near the start of season 4 where her voice just makes me cringe.

Lorne didn't annoy me, but after season 2 his character seemed a bit pointless, same with Gunn.

Gavin was always pointless, didn't bug me though.

Gavin really bugged me, but then he wasn't a main character in my mind so i'll let that go.

like Dzhug above, i felt that Lorne got a bit pointless as the show went on...it was like, by the time mid-season 4 hit, they ran out of ideas for him.

all in all, there are moments for each character where they got on my nerves when they did certain things, but none of the main characters ever annoyed me to the point where i was yelling 'just kill him off already!' i liked everyone in their own way.

and on one side note, not that either of them could EVER annoy me in the least, but why aren't Spike and Illyria part of this list? and for that point, Harmony?

I like the order of the list as written🙂
ALL the characters at one point or another even the great ones.

Cordy - In general Cordelia was a great character. Nothing to complain about here.

Fred - I liked her. Got a bit annoying during her season 4 relationship with Gunn. I just feel the writers started something with her and Gunn that they couldn't follow through so just dropped it.

Angel - Same answer as Cordy really.

Gunn - What annoyed me about this character was the fact that the writers, obviously white/middle class, tried to create a strong black man but turned him into a stereotype then a black 'white' guy.

Wesley - Greatest character progression of the show. Some things annoyed me, but if you can separate character from poor writing you don't blame him.

Lorne - I have to agree with the above. His season 2 presence was great and he did have a role in the show but honestly he could have been dropped and not missed. Season 4 and 5 we are painfully aware of his lack of use and ironically this is where he becomes a full timer.

Doyle - Wasn't on long enough to annoy.

Connor - Unlike many people here and the rest of Buffy World, I liked him. Every step of his character adds something to the plot.

Darla - ANYone suggest Darla annoyed them needs to leave this place immediately.

Lindsey - Bored the crap out of me. I never understood the fans fascination with him. He was a whiny self-involved no mark with beliefs of being above his station.

Lilah - LOVE her. Every moment of her on screen is marvellous.

Gavin - Had like 3 episodes worth watching with him in, the rest...can do without.

im totally with you on this one.. Darla is one of my fav characters, i really loved her character, and a bonus i like the actress too. so not only will you have to leave... i will stab you with sporks *evil laugh* just kidding.. but seriosuly, who could hate her? shes the best!

annoying.... hmmmm i found connor annoying.. ONLY because he stuffed up the Cangel ship.. well you know what i mean.. Gunn, i didnt really like his character.. but he didnt annoy me .. Lorne.. I liked Lorne.. no problems there.. Wesley annoyed me at one stage but i really liked his character.. Cordy.. what isnt there too like! another fav character! I didnt like Fred at the start.. but learn to love her character.. not a fav.. but i would rather her be there than not be there. Angel.. love him... Spike THE BEST and lindsay and lilah were great characters too! and i didnt like gavin.. i thought he was annoying .. Doyle.. liked him too!

Oh, I know how much you like Darla, lil miss 'I wouldn't say no to sexual congress with her so please, Al, write me an erotic story with Darla, Angel and me(being Hannah) in it!'....you sicken me;)
Fred annoyed me at first but I liked her in by season 5.

Agree with Bored of the Dead on Welsey - great transformation

cordy - Only bothered me when she was with Conner
fred - same as Cordy
angel - Really annoyed me unless it was an episode like smile time or whatever. His broodiness was annoying
gunn - I loved
wesley - Never really had a problem with Wes
lorne - One of my favourites
doyle - Another favourite
connor - Hate him
darla - Could be fun but the whole drama between her and Angel got boring sometimes
lindsey - My favourite
lilah - Most fun when she was with Wes
gavin - Love him

It was mostly just Angel and Conner that bothered me

evil look *referring to the darla/angel thing*... smile :D
Cordelia-the general Cangel thing
Connor-the unexplicable hatred for his dad
Wesley-he seemed a bit harsh commenting on Buffy and I never really approved how he stood up to Gunn about Fred "He needs a man" speech
Lindsey-Season 5 Lindsey was out of character, he went away on a road to redemption and come back more evil than former self? I don't buy it.
Eve-She was an unnecessary addition to the cast.
Lorne-He didn't do any contribution to the story arcs, then he shot Lindsey and left the town. He should have stayed.

Hahaha, so now because I was curious about something youve said youre trying to pick apart my mistakes.

I meant she never really bothered me

YES!!!!

Two people are bickering and I'm not one of them!!!

It is so wrong how happy that made me.

Posty, Lindsey went away to find himself. To find out who he really was. His character was wasted in season 5 though.

See, it is not about Lindsey being evil again, it is him being more evil than ever. He came back to confront Angel. And maybe kill him. It was never explained why.

I dont get when he went away on redemption. He went to find himself at the end of season 2. He came back in season 5 eveil. But Lindsay was evil. So m=no wonder he came back evil. He found himself. And himself was evil.

Remember season 1. He tried to go good but couldnt do it. Thats why Lorne kjilled him. He'd never be truely good. To easily swayed to the evil side

Lindsey was an opportunist, he wasn't evil. He wanted power, because of his childhood. He craved power and it was more potent than the moral code that he did clearly have.

David Fury said on one of the dvd commentaries that when Lindsey went to find himself what he realised was that he hated Angel. It was never explained on the show.

Well its almost the same thing. Major power is usually always evil. Power corrupts. Especially that much power. So lindsay was never going to be good.

As for the not explaind thing, I dont think it needed to be. Having watched Lindsay in all his episodes, you get an idea of how he works and it just makes sense why he came back without them spelling it out.

Its not really the same. Power isn't evil. Its that lust for power that drives people to do things that impinges on the freedoms of others and goes against a societal or even subjective sense of morals.

I mean its like saying Hitler killed 60 million Jews. And someone correcting you that it was in fact six million, and you reply, "there's not much difference, is there?"

OF COURSE THERE IS!! 60 million is inexcusable..

You say 60 Mill is inexcusable, but I went to a dinner with three and honestly, I can see where Hitler was coming from
You now what I meant 😛 The point about power corrupting was the important bit. Turns people evil. The power itself is not.
