Who do you think might/will die this Season?

So it's been very much hinted at that someone's getting the axe this season. My guess would have to be:

Buffy:IDK, could be possibly though with the Master returning and that pesky Pergamum Codex but then again how could there be Buffy Season Nine without Buffy?

Willow:No she's probably safe. Besides she's already died once this season, unless you wanna count that and they already confirmed that they won't contradict the Fray Future

Xander:No, no, no. I'm not gonna cross him off as a possibility but I guess it is possible, I think Xander's gonna be the one to betray Buffy this season.

Dawn:Well with the cover for #38 and Georges Jeanty being upset about #39 because of some sort of plot development she's got my vote unfortunately. Especially with the Dawn-Twilight connection

Faith:I'm really hoping not but again is possible. I'm hoping she has more quality time with B and Giles next season, please don't kill her off Joss

Giles:I would be devastated. Giles has been here from the start, it would be a jumping-the-shark sorta deal if they were to write him out forever and I kinda like Giles =)

I'm too lazy to do the rest, but I'm sure they won't be killed off either

She said that in season five. It wasn't the same 2 years later in season 7... She was ready to sacrifice Dawn if it was required to save the world. So no, she's not gonna quit over Dawn dying. Stop overreacting already Bee!

As for the topic, i'm pretty sure Dawn will be the one dying. Outside of that, it could be Giles too... No way Xander, Willow or Buffy(not yet) die.

After the cover with Dawn looking dead in Xander's arms it seems unlikely they'll actually do it, she'll just get injured. I think either Faith or Giles time is up, as the letter from someone in #36 talking in depth about Faith and Giles and Scott Allie's reply is:

Ooh, sorry, definitely no easy wins in this series. The prices are gonna be high by the time we get to the end of the arc.

I very much doubt Dawn would die. First, I am sure Joss is well aware that this would bring great joy to much of the fandom, instead of sadness. Second, killing yet another girlfriend of Xander's would be beyond silly. Third, the leaked cover seems like obvious misdirection.

Most likely whoever dies will be quickly resurrected anyway. If this doesn't happen, it probably will be Giles, his role in the story has been very marginal thus far and it seems to me the writers have lost interest in him long ago.

I think nobody will die. i think talk of character death is all a red herring. I think the thing that will get the fandom irate will be something that a character does that will be hard to take.

I think they'll go for a minor character like Amy. I hope it's not Satsu, she's a relatively new character but I like her a lot. My main fear is that it will be Xander.🙁 It seems like a Whedon thing to do. Please don't do it Joss!

Dying might be the closest thing to a "Get Out Of Jail Free" card that Angel might get this year, considering all of the death, destruction, and general chaos that he has been responsible for in Season 8. It's not like he has to stay dead. None of the other main players have stayed dead so far. The closest have been Jenny Calendar, Joyce Summers, and, of course, Tara, but they could all be considered at best close supporting roles.

So, my vote goes for Angel. Buffy and Spike's children can bring him back in Season 9 in a science experiment that goes wrong.

Dawn has always been the vanila character to me, ya know, nothing special. So, I wouldn't care either way if she lived or die. Even though if it was years ago I would have been like yesssssssssss yessssssssssss.

I've had a feeling for the longest time that it would be Giles. Something gave me that idea in the first to third story arc, I don't remember which one. So, I really wouldn't be surprised if it was him.

If it was Xander, Willow, Faith - I doubt it would be Buffy - I would probably cry like I was really watching it on TV. lol

Maybe it will be someone minor like...isn't Andrew wounded pretty badly? Amy could always be a small death that has some sort of catalyst for something for Warren to do. Who knows.

There's one thing that I honestly believe that Joss likes above everything else, beyond Buffy, Angel, Spike, Faith, or any other character or relationship in the Buffyverse, and that's a good, unexpected, even shocking, story twist. Witness the Angel/Angelus transformation in Season 2, Buffy's death in Season 5, or Spike's regaining his soul in Season 6. If Joss thinks that having Angel give his life in an act of atonement for all of the trouble that he has caused this season, and maybe destroying the real Big Bad in the process, will be the proper shocker ending for Season 8, then die Angel shall. That could even provide a good solid sub plot for Season 9, as Buffy and the Scoobies, along with the remnants of Angel's LA crew, scour the world and several adjoining dimensions for a way to bring Ol' Broodie back (like the summer between Seasons 5 and 6 when the Scoobies did the same thing for Buffy, while also trying to keep conditions more or less stable around the hellmouth, only let the fans see exactly what was going on during that time)

If Angel were to die I think I would drop the series. He IS my favorite character and I don't like resurrections as it cheapens the meaning of their death and there's only so much resurrection you can have before all death becomes meaningless (except for Wesley's case, I would love to see him back) and if Buffy and Spike were to have kids (Flesh slowly melts off bones) that would kill the series for me even though I liked their relationship in BTVS S7 it is in the 'ship cemetery now, as a former spuffy 'shipper I've moved on. Now I'm going for either Sprusilla or Spillyria.

But as for the character who will die I still stick to my original opinion that it will be Dawn. Sure they wouldn't release something like that on the cover but it could be a reverse red herring, or Joss is reading this and laughing at us which is very unlikely.
