There's one thing that I honestly believe that Joss likes above everything else, beyond Buffy, Angel, Spike, Faith, or any other character or relationship in the Buffyverse, and that's a good, unexpected, even shocking, story twist. Witness the Angel/Angelus transformation in Season 2, Buffy's death in Season 5, or Spike's regaining his soul in Season 6. Wesley came back as a ghost in the Hell Timeline. After time was turned back to the alleyway Wesley's soul presumably was returned to the Senior Partners to do as they please with it. Wesley will never have any kind of peace unfortunately
 
I voted Angel, seeing he's been revealed as Twilight that means Buffy going to have to destroy him seeing he's the big bad in season 8. And quite frankly, I wouldn't care if Angel died because I don't really like him that much.

However, I would have voted Riley, but it's alittle obvious he's going to die so the other character who I thought would die is Angel.
 
Well I think we can scratch both Angel and Spike of the list for the simple reason that they are not the property of Dark Horse but IDW and that has a bigger impact on what they can and can't do with them I believe.

Killing Dawn might be it, I mean this might be Xanders new thing not a demon magnet any more just a death magnet now and all his girlfriends are killed.

Killing off Buffy after it's revealed that she wasn't really all that into Angel and she is about to tell which of Angel and Spike she truly luvs and then dies of a heart attack, that would keep the shippers going forever and well considering how on the fence JW seems to be about that I can actually see something stupid like that happen.

I'm almost through watching S7 again and I must say offing Kennedy would be nice but too many people would cheer for that.

Killing off Faith, Giles and Andrew would not be a big enough impact for JW to do I think. I would hate to see Faith die, I have my hopes up for a Spike/Faith comic once everything goes under Dark Horse again.

As for the topic, i'm pretty sure Dawn will be the one dying. Outside of that, it could be Giles too... No way Xander, Willow or Buffy(not yet) die.

Buffy did say that.... and then she got Xander to kidnap Dawn and get her the heck away from the battle. I don't think Buffy was willing to sacrifice Dawn at all.
 
I still don't think they would kill off Angel or Spike this season for a very good reason:

Allie confirmed they would appear in Season Nine. Plus they got the Angel Series back after taking it from IDW, why would they go through all that trouble just to kill him off? I'd lose all respect for Joss
 
I voted for Angel, but I think it's more likely that it will be Dawn who kicks the bucket this season.

Considering Xander's bad luck with women, her death would continue that irony, and there's no place for Dawn to go character-wise, and I think the writers are feeling that. Also, Dawn's death would cause Buffy to spiral either into a catatonic stuper or a homicidal rampage - both of which would be interesting and make for good story.

I don't think there's anything that Angel can do to redeem himself for what he's done short of death. Killing himself would save him. Maybe something similar to what Spike did in the Hellmouth.

Spike and Angel are probobly safe, though. They are confirmed as major players in season 9.

Personally, I'd be really pissed if Faith died - but at the end of the day this is Joss' story and he'll do what he wants with it.
 
The more I think about it, the more I don't want Dawn to die for Buffy's sake. I'm not sure she could get over it. Although she did deal with her mom dying, & that was probably equally as hard if not moreso.
 
I agree if Dawn were to die it would be so hard on Buffy. Dawn means everything to her, she loves Dawn. I think killing Dawn would be a terrible move because i dont know how Buffy would recover from that.

Yes, I agree. I'm really surprised that in 36 issues we haven't had a major death yet. Yes, we had Renee, and countless other nameless slayers but not anything really important.

PLEASE PLEASE let it be Kennedy or Dawn!! I'd be happy with either. It better not be Giles, Xander or Willow. I'd be devastated. I'd quit too.

I can't see it being Xander or Willow. Not Dawn because I don't see Buffy recovering. Buffy dying - Season 9 is confirmed so no. Spike and Angel, no, since they're confirmed for S9 too.

So, I voted Giles, lol.
