So who do you think was the Best match for Illyria and why?

Personally I think Spike, Spike and Illyria's interaction on the show was just amazing. And Spike's misinterpretation to Illyria saying that her and Wesley "Intercourse" was just funny. But after reading Angel:After the fall #23 and Angel:Only Human I'm convinced that Gunn and Illyria would also work but I prefer Spillyria
 
Well.... She did want Connor to be her breeding partner for what it's worth 😉

So I'm going to go with either Connor or Spike. I can't see Illyria working out with a 'mouth breather' lol No offense to Gunn or Wesley intended.
 
If there was an option I would vote "nobody". All she has to do is walk around being badass and I'll be happy.

LOL, ITA! I did vote for Wesley, though, I think they had the most connection (although the interaction btwn her & Spike was cool). Kinda moot since he was offed, but whatever! Haven't read After the fall yet, so I'm anxious to see what they do there.

I strongly suggest reading Angel:After the fall, one of the best graphic novels there is IMO
I voted Spike because i think he has the best chance but if I had to choose another person it would be Connor because he is pretty strong.
I will say Wesley could get to her on a emotional level because when it came to him she seemed like she cared at times.
 
Well maybe I should've included an "Other" option, didn't really occur to me at the time. But:

Wesley😀ead, for the time being. He had feelings for Fred, but as for Illyria I don't know about. I think he had some sort of attraction to her because she was in the shell of the woman he loved

Spike:Those two were funny, and I love when they spar. They make really great friends, they just so amazing together and I think they could work romantically

Gunn:Illyria is using the shell of the woman he used to love. The woman that made him a kinder person. And have you seen their interaction in #23 of After the fall? Or Only Human? Or what about when Illyria told Gunn in Not Fade Away, to "try not to die, you're not unpleasant for my eyes", aww.

Connor:Well can't really get into this without getting spoilerly, Connor's toughness would attract someone like Illyria and he was attracted to her.

As for what Fredsicle said I guess her and Drogyn could've worked, never really thought about it actually

Well, originally I voted for Spike. They were fun together. 😀 BUT, now that Tom brought it to my attention, Tillyria would definitely be the best choice. Theirs is a forever love. No joke.

I'd go with Wesley, the moments they shared in season 5 had real meaning and in the case of Illyria i think she was beginning to love Wesley. Whereas in Wesley's case he loved Illyria because of Fred.
 
Well all opinions are welcome, that's what the poll is for. It seems a lot of people like Illyria/Wesley which I can kinda get, I mean Illyria is what remains of Fred, the woman he loves.
 
I could never get behind Wesley/Illyria. It's morbid, lol. I think they skirted the line, so to speak, just enough to where it was okay. But actually having them get together would be too much, IMO.

Wesley himself said: "I'm not in love with this thing, Angel." In Origin and in Not Fade Away we see he doesn't want Illyria acting/looking/speaking anything like her.

Anyways. Like with Lorne, I never got a 'shippy feel from Illyria. Though if I had to choose, it'd be Spike. They're hilarious together 🙂
 
I can't believe Wesley is leading. I can't see how it works. Plus, if Illyria get with Wesley, that means Wesley is creepy. 😛

Spike is the way. They're hilarious together. He's her closest friend. I've read AtF and I still can't see her with Gunn or Connor. Atf is full of Spillyria-ness. Oh yeah, I'm a big Spillyria shipper. 😉

Great idea! They would be an interesting couple. So out of touch with the world. Similar and yet polar opposites at the same time.

I want my vote to go to Drogyn!
