The Bunnies
B/S shipper to the end
Ok lets have a serious discussion about who will survive and why. Please note that these are not intended to be spoilers, I do not read the spoilers in fact. This is purely conjecture.
That being said, here are a few thoughts that I have been playing with.
1) Anya will die because Emma is not coming back for another season, spin-off or no. I believe this to be true because they are building up the relationship between Anya and Xander again, perfect timing for a Whedon-style massacre on that one, leaving Xander heartbroken that he never got to truly make amends with Anya. This is one that I am feeling pretty confident about so I wanted to get it out of the way first.
2) Now onto Buffy and Spike. I think if Buffy dies, Spike will live or vice versa. I can see Buffy sacrificing herself for Spike at the end, finally "telling him" (as predicted by that psychic girl who's name escapes me because it's late and I have been drinking). I can also see Spike laying down his life for Buffy OR Dawn, he obviously feels strongly enough about them.
I cannot, however, forsee Spike and Buffy riding off into the sunset together (so to speak) at the end of the show. It's just too Un-Whedonesque. And if they did where would Dawn factor into this? She would have to go with them too (unless dead), so now we have 3 main characters surviving the finale, one of whom is definetly not returning, spin off or no. I just can't see that happening, one or more of them must go.
The other thought I have about this is they pull a Romeo and Juliet parody and both Buffy AND Spike die. It would be quite... artistic.
3) Willow will most likely survive. She has shown that she can turn on the evil-magic-juice to save her own ass (the giant spiders in the frat house in that episode a while back) in a split second when needed.
4) Xander and Giles I am really up in the air about. They are both completely human and have been around the show without any major injury or fatalities for so long that it's hard to believe that they will both make it through the forthcoming orgy of violence. I believe that one of them will die, and if I had to pick one I'd say Xander simply because he would bring less to a spin-off (aside from his window fixing skills obviously).
5) Dawn I can see dying, that would be a decent reason for Buffy to pack up and leave town, having no family left (what happened to her dad?). This would be especially believable if Spike also died, cementing my theory above.
6) Andrew will die, he served his purpose in Storyteller. I can't really see his character developing into something else beyond this, save for perhaps a new Xander on a spin-off, but that would just annoy the piss out of me.
7) Wood I think will hash it out with Spike in this next episode, and perhaps Spike or The First will take him out. If he does survive, as with Xander and Giles above, Wood is completely human and there is an orgy of violence on the way, 'nuff said.
8) The minor SITs will probably all die, that's pretty much a given.
9) Kennedy will not die because I don't think that they will repeat the whole Willow gets a girlfriend then she dies thing.
Thoughts? Who am I missing here? It's like 5:30 in the morning and I've had a long night, so please excuse me if this post is completely unintelligable and rambles on... 😀
