Question Who else would you have wanted as The First Evil?

HAHA! I just saw something of this on tumblr! The First could turn into Miss Kitty Fantastico and eavesdrop on their plans! (This probably couldn't actually happen, but still...) 🙂

At the mention of Jesse I think it would have been great to see him back but I can see why they didn't, I suspect that they might have feared the audience wouldn't really remember him (and I suppose a lot of more casual viewers and what not would in fact have had no idea who he was since he was never mentioned again after his death *glares a little at Joss & co)

But as I love the idea of 'going back to the beginning' I would have loved seeing Jesse back because I think it would have (or should have) shaken Xander and Willow up quite a bit... first 'soldier' down to them so to speak, his return should have made a great impact.

Jesse for Xander: Obvious reasons. And, it would go with the 'back to the beginning' theme.

Darla for Xander: She took his best friend and you know she would taunt him.

(more) Dru for Spike: Obvious reasons. And I love James and Juliet together.

Dru for Buffy or Faith: Crazy nonsense about killing Slayers.

Tara for Willow: Obvious reasons.

Joyce for Buffy or Dawn: Obvious reasons.

Angelus for Buffy or Xander: 'I'm under your skin' or 'I got her and you never will'. I would like to see more proof against Xander being into Buffy still. Like, "I got her and you never will" and Xander going, "And your point is?"

Spike for Buffy or Xander: Early-esque Spike, same as above.

Jenny for Giles: Obvious reasons.

Katrina for Andrew or Jonathan: They both have severe guilt complexes and I would like to see that.

Kendra for Buffy or Faith: 'I can break you.' sort of thing.

Kakistos for Faith: Obvious reasons.

'Diana Dormer' for Faith: Obvious reasons.

Cassie for Dawn: I think the First should've made a play for Dawn because I don't buy that she isn't the Key anymore.

Larry for Xander: Trying to convince him to come out. Or, well, Larry for Andrew, either.

Jonathan for Buffy: He presented her tacky little umbrella and obviously kind of worshipped her. I think it could've been a nice subtlety.

Buffy for Faith: 'You'll never be the Slayer I am', playing on Faith's inferiority complex.

Buffy for Dawn: "You aren't really my sister, thank God" and just general distressing.

This is too easy.

These are so good :) :)
Having the First Evil appear to Buffy as Angel, not Angelus, could have been good, if handled properly, especially if, for some reason, Buffy wasn't aware that it really wasn't him immediately. The F E loved playing mind games with people, and that could have been the ultimate Buffy mind game. Just imagine F E/Angel telling Buffy something like...

F E/A- I just thought that you should be the first to know, Buffy. Remember when you told me that there was someone new in your life, someone that you loved and could trust? Well, this is gonna floor you, but, after all this time, I've finally realized that I love Cordelia. It's not like what we had, but that makes it even better, because I don't have to live like a monk anymore. I know that you'll be as happy for us as we, ourselves are, and we would love for you to come to our wedding. Check with Wes for the details on our silver and crystal patterns...

If the F E REALLY wanted to mess with Buffy's mind, that would have been the way.

I would pay to see the look on Buffy's face, but I like to think the FE has more nuance, so I assume you're just being example-y with that particular tactic?

I think the FE would be all "Uhm, I'm glad you're doing well. I worry. I don't really know how to say this, because it's still strange for me but...I'm in love with Cordelia." Except, because, hello, Joss Whedon show, it would take place as a dialogue ove rth espace of two or three pages. 🙄

Angelus for Spike. I always loved the whole Fanged Four dynamic. First!Dru had been explored, Darla wasn't really much with Spike, but Angelus-Spike would've been fascinating, like in AtS S5 flashbacks.

I think Tara would have been good as she would have been doubley effective, from super nice to super evil would have been super effective.

I have never thought about Kendra or Jesse, but it would've been so great! I agree with Taake though, I think they probably didn't because a lot of viewers wouldn't remember who they were. Kendra could've worked, but a lot of people would probably be confused by Jesse. But if they could've worked out a nice way of introducing him, even having a whole episode with flash backs from that ep from season 1 revolving around him it would've been amazing! More for the impact it would have on Willow and Xander than the emotional effect it would have on the viewers for seeing someone "good" be evil. We didn't really get to know Jesse that much, so my emotions would come from the willow/xander reaction. 🙂

Well, Buffy was the First, but for the most part, we've only seen her working with Caleb, or taunting Spike. I would've liked to see her actually inside the Summer's home, talking to the Potentials, as well as the Scoobies. Considering they should trust her the most, Buffy/The First would've been more convincing, and more scarier.

I didn't like Jesse or Kendra but I guess having them appear would have shaken them up a bit.
