Billie Piper is leaving Doctor Who, so the doctor will be needing a new companion. How about someone from the Whedonverse.

I mean can't you see Emma Caulfield gumming up the Tardis, messing with the controls, or Jewel Staite out-sweeting Rose. Or how about the Doctor picks up a space-crazy Summer Glau. 🙂

Or how about the best all round actress with any kind of connection to the Whedonvers - Caroline Dhavernas. She could be anything. She could be Romana's daughter.

Well its been chosen (some girl from some lametastic british soap).

However the like two days of speculation seemed like a British version of the Wonder Woman speculation.

Do you mean Freema Agyeman?

I don't know. You may be privy to some announcement in England we can't get over the internet, but at present from what we can get on the web, it would appear the final decision has yet to be announced. The impression I'm getting is Freema is considered the front runner, because she's in the final 2 episodes of the current season.

This one's dated June 16.

The papers have made a number of conflicting predictions today - Former Corrie actress Nikki Sanderson is tipped by the Express while The Sun plumps for former Crossroads "stunner" Freema Agyeman. But what about some left field ideas? Anyone for bringing back Bonnie Langford as Melanie Bush?

I think Julie Benz should the new Romana! Sorry, reflex.

I don't really care who the new female companion is, mostly because who ever it will be will have a different personality than rose so i don't think it matters (if that makes sense) i just can't help but wonder if the rumor i read about John Barrowman being in (at least part of) s3 was also wrong, seeing as i read that Billie was staying around the same time.

Nothing on IMDB about a Barrowman appearance on Who. The actors have been working on Torchwood since at least April 26, so unless it's a sneaky quick appearance, I don't know...

Hey did you see where the actor who plays Mickey is hinting he might be back on Who? Surely not a male companion?

Julie Benz as Romana, wouldn't that be something. Unfortunately the Time Lords are all dead. Then again the Daleks were supposed to all be dead too. Could she do the accent?

Noel Clarke is always optimistic about Mickey, I don't think he'll show up again (its as likely as Romana i guess) but NC is writing for Torchwood. As long as Torchwood is good I'll be happy with the state of Jack's character.

ETA: non au Jake could show up haha!
