Was in an experimental project (heh, aren't they all!) a while back and we predominantly played Nirvana and Green Day covers as our lead was pretty new. The eventual name, Skindrill was unanimously chosen for the reason that our riffage usually maxed out the amps and because we were so bad at syncing together. Everyone developed the idea that if we can't fuse a sound together, just play faster, lol. Anyway that was 3 or 4 years back now and as we began to write our own material, use time stops and enter a few solo's here and there, everyone strangely slipped to other area's, namely not music and it was only me and Bez left.
Now at a junction (termed it the turnjet depression, heh), i've became mates with this bald, 2nd hand music shop/Nazi-lookalike owner of Fortis Records (hopeful manager and promoter) ...and he's got me in with some apparent Cobain look-alike on rhythm and a music shop working, post-grad bassist. Things looking up, well hopefully this summer and the new house I've just moved in (huge detached garage, no residents as the housing site is still in construction, ample room for instrument storage and a deluge of hazy purple smoke) will play a major part to the progression.
Oh yeah, I've been playing the drums for almost five years now and the guitar for around three. My kits a now shoddy metallic black finish 5-piece brand I wish to go unnamed, but supped up with a quintet of Pearl rides, crashes and a nice China I recently upgraded. Prospectively I want to upgrade the 5-piece to Export standard and to complete the transition I'd love a double power shifter with quad-beaters, you know really get the metal back into some of the sessions.
My guitar is a basic black maple-finish Stratocaster, but wish to upgrade to a Gibson Explorer real soon. I used to also have an Ibanez acoustic, but sold that rather ambiguously for some of those Pearl cymbals. Hopefully Chris (music shop grad) should aid me through he summer. Other than that, I'd like to tune my percussion area further, maybe start the bongo's! Get a raw, tribal edge, or well, something into the band, lol.
