I wasn't belittlng you. I used the word "ninny" becuase it is something Spike said to Giles and Buffy when they clearly couldn't see that Willow was hanging on by a thread after Oz dumped her. I thought "ninny" was funny and appropriate.

A fan on another site had said that Angels comment was a definite shout out to Bangel fans and that it was a sign thet they were meant to be together. Excuse me for understanding the premise of "the Girl in Question", and the context of which Angel said that mumbling throw away line and why he used those particilar words.

It is a clear "shut the **** up" to Bangel fans who do go on about something completely trivial, ignoring the bigger points made in Angel to concentrate on a silly high school romance. Buffy will never end up with either Spike or Angel, do what the episode says and move in.

But I'll not say anything else about it because I'll just end up arguing the point. So, we'll just have to agree to disagree on that point.
 
I didn't watch every season of Angel..so I'm probably not a good source. We know he loved Buffy...but it seemed toward the end it more was about him just wanting to hold on to his vision of her. Who knows?
 
im not trying to get yelled at by both buffy/angel and anti-buffy/angel people, cause i like buffy/angel, but i was wondering something. all the non-buffy/angel fans are always saying their love is a "silly high school" romance and such, which makes sense on buffy's part, cause she was young and in high school. but, angel was really much older, so why would he waste his time with "silly high school" romance? im just kind of confused on that point.

That's a pretty good question - Angel was pretty smart. He, unlike most high school kids, doesn't care what kind of romance it is. He fell in love with Buffy pretty quick, and he knows Buffy is definetly at least a little interested in him by even the first episodes of season 1 (how he does that, don't ask, but it's pretty obvious he knows for some reason). Angel also knows he has something in common with Buffy, and it's not often that he could find someone like that.
 
I think that is the great thing about the show(s) ending how it is. You never know really who she would have chosen...it leaves it up to you to decide. Whether it was Angel or Spike or maybe neither. We'll never know.

I think that's a horrible perspective to have. I have an ever evolving opinion. The point of debate is to change the other persons mind..(I find a rock is most useful for that)

And that thing you quoted wasn't my opinion, it was Whedon's opinion, just translated into my harsh (anti) rhetoric.
 
Buffy, because she is the love of Angel's life and vice versa...I didn't like him with Darla because she didn't love Angel she loves Angelus, I didn't like him with Nina mainly because she wasn't a main character, and I didn't like him with Cordy because it with her I knew if they got together and did that one thing Angel would lose his soul again.
 
Cordelia. Angel has expressed more emotion over her death than any other female in his life. His feelings for Buffy seemed to be unhealthy and mired in his image of her as the sixteen to eighteen year-old he knew back in Sunnydale. And perhaps "Guise Will Be Guise" was a hint that Buffy was some "innocent" substitution of Darla.
 
I'd have to go with Buffy. We all know that Angel and Buffy was amazing together, but I'm caught between the thing with him and Cordy too. I waited so long for the day that the two would actually hook up. They both confessed their love for each other seperately, but never face to face. What would of happened if they would of met up that night? If they would of confessed their true feelings for each other? I think the love he has for Cordy surpasses Buffy on some levels.
 
OKay, but we all fail to realize that he followed Buffy since she was in LA. So if you're watching someone that long then I'm guessing you would like them eventually. And that's kind of creepy if you think about it.

We didn't get to see him grieve over Buffy. All we got was a reaction to the news she had died. Also in season 3 because of network restraints they were not allowed to mention Buffy too much.

Of the loves of Angel's life, Buffy was the biggest, and probably the most important. She was the helping hand he needed.

Cordelia was his guidance, and she will always be with him, but his relationship with Buffy was pivotal.

It did end though, and Angel needs to move on from that or it can stunt any future growth he needs to make.
 
NOt trying to sound mean or anything, but where have you been? We did qitness his greive for Buffy. The way he acted in the beginning of this season was because of his emotions for Buffy.

To be perfectly honest, you don't sound mean, you sound like a bit of a prat. I don't know the exact timeframe, but it's at least 3 months we miss of Angel's life, between him learning about Buffy's death, and the next time we see him. In which time Angel left the group, to grieve on his own, he went to a monastery in Sri Lanka.

Now I don't want to sound mean, but if you're going to lecture someone on an aspect of the show, at least have some clue about that aspect.
 
I think his relationships with Buffy, Cordelia and Nina were important and meaningful in different ways. Buffy is definately the love of his life (to me), their relationship and connection keeps popping up through the seasons. But this didn't mean I didn't enjoy Buffy/Spike .. Angel/Nina, (I couldn't get into Cordy/Angel together, felt forced to me, like brother and sister or something.. I even liked Fred/Angel better).
 
Any support I had for Buffy/Angel was demolished by Buffy's appearances in "Angel". It became obvious they were wrong for each other. People say "I Will Remember You" is so sad and sweet. My ass. I couldn't wait for her to go home.

Nuriko is right though, about the hair gel. 🙂
