And how many times did it need to be pointed out to other character's on various other shows?! I mean, really we're just mincing words here. My point was it didn't need to be pointed out to the audience how those two felt about each other, because those of us who were enjoying it saw it as a natural progression. So yeah, maybe I should have better expressed myself or something, idk.

Also, just because they didn't notice it (which, I'm not so sure I'm quick to believe that either) immediately, doesn't mean that their relationship still wasn't a natural progression. Opinions vary, this one is mine obviously.

I would just like to say, not as a Spuffy supporter, but as simply a fan, that I find it really interesting that, by this late in the poll, Buffy and Cordelia would be in the lead, neck and neck, being considered to be the best love interests for Nina's boyfriend.

That's even better, I think. Honestly, though, I don't see how anyone can say that Cordy/Angel's relationship was forced. *shrugs*

I used to be a total Bangel. But as I've gotten older and rewatched both series over and over again, I've changed my mind to be a Cangel now. The way Angela and Cordy's relationship evolved from friendship into romance was so natural and beautiful. With Buffy and Angel, I see it now more as infatuation than love.

I agree with all of this. I loved Buffy/Angel as a couple because they were epic and amazing together, and I feel the same way about Darla/Angel, but I always felt that Angel was the happiest with Cordelia when I saw how much he smiled when he was around her. Also, I always thought there was something between them since Cordelia started working for Angel and soon became good friends with him. So because of that, I ended up voting Cordelia. But if the question was asking who Angelus should be with, I'd pick Darla because I adore them together and they're definately one of my favorite ships of Buffyverse.

I voted for Cordy because well it is simple to me. They have a love that can last a lifetime to me, yes they didn't start out the way most couples do but it made perfect sense. They were friends and then fell in love.

Now my main reason I love them and think she is the perfect match for him is because she compliments him. They love each other but they also kind of need each other. She brings out the best in him and even shows his soft side. He became a champion with her help not that I am giving all the credit to her but I am just saying she helped him in a way that no one else could. She pushed him and he would take it in and really learn from it. So I am saying that Cordy was different from all the other women in his life to me and that is why I choose her. Their relationship was beautiful and it is one of the things I enjoy seeing in Angel.

I started watching BtVS a year after it ended, but I didnt watch Angel until a year after that. I was surprised before I began to watch AtS when I heard that Angel/Cordy, who had a one-sided flirtation on BtVS actually became best friends then eventually more. I only read a vague description & started watching all of the episodes from the beginning & absolutely loved the build-up from friendship that had rough patches to a slow burn of feelings. I cant believe they didnt get to properly date & whatnot due to storylines & Cordys eventual death, but I definitely shipped them anyway & have ever since other than Spuffy.

Once when she first got her visions (which doesn't count) and the again in You're Welcome before she died. When people say they like that pair I always think they're just making up fan fics, because I don't feel the passion when they're on screen and it doesn't even show it outside of fantasies o.o

I think they make best friends though. Same with Willow. I love seeing Angel and Willow all buddy buddy.

I like Nina, but never saw it as a long term thing.

Just because there was no official relationship, or big gestures of love and romance, doesn't mean there wasn't any love and passion. There were many subtle things that showed Angel and Cordy would be great together, if they got their chance. That's what Cangel fans see and feel, at least I do. 🙂

I always felt they loved eachother, but only as friends till sometime during Angel season 3, but then it all went downhill for them before things even got started. I was fine with them having feelings for eachother till Cordy had sex with his son. Even if she wasn't in full control of her actions, sleeping with his son is kinda a deal breaker for me.

Think about what'd it'd have been like if Cordy came back for good in season 5 and Angel and her got together. Angel becomes human one day and marries her. Cordy would become Connors step mother 😱 she was already the closest thing he had to one when he was born.

Do you really want to see two people together when one of them can say "that's not how your son did it" O_O

Believe me...no one likes the Connor/Cordy thing, even if she was possessed. Funny thing though, Angel dreams about all this in "Awakening." Could he and Cordy move past her sleeping with Connor (although he didn't know at the time she was possessed)? In his mind, he thought they could and they could be happy. And it's hard speculating what could have happened in s5 if Cordy stayed. I doubt they would have gotten married and had their happily ever after. So, all we have to go by is "You're Welcome." And it's an awesome episode. 🙂

I said this in my rep, but I wanted to say it again. Thank you, for pointing this out. It frustrates me on many levels to think that Cordy, who was clearly possessed by Jasmine at this time and wasn't in control of her own actions, would be held responsible and taken to task for this. Most especially, when Charisma herself has said that she didn't care for this particular storyline, either.

It was an act of rape, on a level. If we're not going to hold Cordy accountable for killing Lilah (even though she still apologized to Wesley for doing it because he cared about her, in You're Welcome) then she shouldn't be taken to task for sleeping with Connor. It'd be different if she was of sound, mind, and body when it happened but she wasn't.

1) Parting Gifts. Completely platonic given the circumstances, but a nice little titbit for the shippers.
2) Birthday. One of my favourite Cangel moments. If you're being picky, this was in an alternate universe, but Cordelia remembers it all so...
3) Waiting in the Wings. Posessed by the ghosts of star-crossed lovers, but obvious attraction there anyway.
4) Deep Down. In Angel's dream, at the beach.
5) Awakening. In that tunnel place, looking for the sword (in Angel's perfect day fantasy)
6) Awakening again. In the bedroom, just before he loses his soul.
7) You're Welcome. A true, romantic, real-life, this-universe, un-possessed, kiss.

Yeah, if you want to just look at the true kisses, Cordelia and Angel have shared just one, at the end of Cordelia's last episode. And is it just me, or does that make that one kiss a million times more romantic, and their whole story that much more special?
