Who is the better slayer

Hi there,i have a simple yet quite fun question. Who's the better vampire slayer,Buffy or Faith? for the record my answer is Buffy,although i like Faith more, Buffy was always willing to do the right thing first,well until season seven at least lol 😛 🙂

If were talking s2-7, than no questions asked, it's Buffy. Faith is not even really in the running, she's spent most of her time either being in jail, or being "evil", therefore doing more wrong than right. And when she was "good", even then Buffy had better plans and was the superior fighter.

Buffy and Faith were closely enough matched in Season 3 that an all out fight between the two could just about go either way (remember, the deciding factor in their big showdown Buffy cheated by using a knife)

By Season 4, when Faith came out of her coma, Buffy's additional experience was beginning to tilt the scales in her favor, but the match was still pretty close. Three and a half years later, Buffy had gained experience while Faith was in Jail, not only not adding to her experience, but also not facing anything more dangerous than an enraged inmate, hardly any kind of challenge for someone with Slayer powers. At that time, Buffy definitely had the edge.

After Season 7, it's anybody's guess, since as far as we know, the two haven't squared off against each other since that time, or even sparred together. I would guess, though, that, Faith being Faith, she has been working overtime to close that gap again.

By the end of Season 9, it would be my estimate that Buffy and Faith are fast approaching the point of near equality once more.

But then again, after rereading the question, I'd have to say that you hit the target and I missed it completely.

It is still Buffy, by the weight of sheer numbers. Faith is too preoccupied with running for her life, then running from her life, then challenging Buffy, then torturing the innocent, then giving back her debt to society to actually do her real job and actually dust vampires.

I love Faith so much, but this is no question to me: Buffy. Even though Buffy has made some seriously questionable choices (pretty much all of Season 7, IMO), she's a better fighter because she can control her emotions a little better and use those emotions to her advantage. Faith lets her rage take her over and loses sight of the goal.

I'm sorry if the question i posed was not clear. I mostly wanted to know who everyone thought was the better "slayer",by which i mean who makes the better judgements. I also should have added that i meant it for post redemption Faith (season 4 of Angel and onwards.) Once again sorry for the confusion,I'm just a rookie though 😛 Still,i also wanted to know who was the better fighter, it just wasn't my emphasis,so i appreciate all the varying opinions. 🙂

I think it is hard to say because they have such different styles and since there was never meant to be two I can't help but wonder how Faith would have turned out had she been the only Slayer.

At the point where we first meet her in season 3 though I think it seemed very likely that she would have met an early end had it not been for Buffy... but never say never. So if she had lived through that she might have shaped up afterwards.

However with the answers of those events at hand I do think that Buffy is the better Slayer because I don't think that, even if she had been the only Slayer, that Faith would have lived for as long. (But then that credit goes not only to Buffy's skills as a Slayer/judgement making but to her friends so all in all I think that she and Faith are more even than one might think)
