Who is the strongest physically in both Buffy and Angel?

The topic about who is the strongest mentally got me thinking, out of all the characters, who is physically the strongest? Now keep in mind I'm talking about pure physical strength, not magical powers, and not fighting skill. After thinking about it for awhile, I think I have come up with the top 5:

1. Illyria (before her powers were reduced)
2. The Mayor (ascended form)
3. The Beast
4. Glory
5. Sahjhan

Thoughts?
 
I would agree that it is clearly Illyria... although I am unsure why you are thinking Sahjhan, when he was killed by connor, who is at best as strong as angel/darla, and at worst somewhere between them and a regular human?

Also I think the mayor isn't 2nd, or the best third, I think Glory would beat both in a test of strength, she is a mucho powerful God afterall, the only reason I'd say Illyria over her is that we know Illyira was a ruler of Gods... also I think there may be a space for Caleb in the top 5, although that is just of the top of my head.
 
I'll agree that the order of 2,3,and 4 is pretty debatable. I was leaning towards putting Glory ahead of The Beast at one point. I do think the Mayor ascended is stronger than Glory, simply due to the size of him and what it took to kill him.

Sahjhan I put at number 5 for two reasons: He got hit by a truck to almost no effect whatsoever, and easily beat Angel in a fight and probably would have killed him had Justine not interfered.
 
True it took a lot to kill the mayor, but on the same hand, Glory in her true form could not be killed, at least not by any means known.

I would say Skip from Angel. The demon who defends the "higher beeings"!

he is one I considered for number 5, but I ended up putting Sahjahan ahead of him, due to the fact that Angel, by himself, was able to beat Skip in a fight.
I think Illyria would give them all a run for their money 😀

Before her power was reduced, she was for sure the strongest.
Illyria is the first one who comes to mind for me, particularly before "Time Bomb". She was pretty much unstoppable. The only other one who might come close to equaling her in terms of sheer physical strength and power would be The Beast. All of Team Angel combined couldn't come close to stopping, or even hurting, him. Faith lost to him as well. It took Angelus stabbing him in the back to finally kill him.

But there was nothing quite like Illyria. I think she was the number one most powerful being we saw in the Buffyverse, even Glory.
 
The only reason Angelus was even able to kill the beast was because he had the special dagger or whatever it was made from the beast itself or something like that lol.
 
From your list, I'd rank them as:

1. Illyria (before her powers were reduced)

I'm pretty sure that The Beast was stronger than Illyria. Although if she used her time warp and stabbed him with that dagger, he wouldn't stand a chance. So perhaps she should be ranked above him. Yeah, for now I'll say she's stronger (or was when she had all of her powers). Haha and I can just imagine Glory grabbing The Mayor in ascended form like a worm and tossing him through the air. As for Sahjhan...if Connor can handle him, I'm sure those other four could.

I'd rank Buffy right after him. Maybe.

I agree with everyone on the list except for Sahjhan. I would actually thing Caleb was tougher than he was, at least after the first juiced him up a bit.
 
I don't know how strong Illyria is, I haven't gotten so far yet.

But if physically also includes Willow after she's done the magic thing to herself in Two to Go, then I'd say Dark Willow ranks somewhere on top of the list.
