Wasn't sure if this should go in this section or on "The Whedonverse". Anyways, who is your favorite Avenger from the 2012 Whedon blockbuster "The Avengers"?

I'm a Captain America guy. He's my favorite Marvel superhero by a ridiculously wide margin, and I liked him a lot in the movie as well. I thought Chris Evans made a good Cap, and they nailed the important dimensions of what makes him special. I would have liked a bit more time devoted to him in "The Avengers" (I'd heard rumors that Whedon's director's cut of the film was north of three hours long and featured Cap's adjustment to modern life prominently), but still really dug him.
 
From the moment I saw the Avengers in the cinema I wanted to make an animated movie of Hawkeye bouncing on screen saying "dont worry guys, I'll shoot the aliens with my arrows!!" and Thor annoyed and just being like "I am LITERALLY a god"

Having said that I like Hawkeye and Black Widow as an interesting story together, but not so much individually.

I'd probably say Thor, but I love Iron Man we've just seen a lot of him.
 
THOR! Thor Thor Thor. I love him! And cannot wait for the new movie!
 
Hawkeye. I have a thing for a guy shooting arrows (now guess my fave DC superhero XD)

Very close second are both Iron Man and Captain America, though.
 
Iron Man. The only other really interesting character from The Avengers is Bruce Banner. Captain America is totally annoying, in my opinion. Thor is OK, and the others aren't even real Avengers to me.
 
THE HULK!!!!! Definitely!!!!

The black widow and hawkeye are probably tied for my second choice.

I'm surprised at how well Hawkeye is doing in this poll. He didn't even have a personality in this movie. He was mind-controlled for 90 percent of his scenes! lol Looking forward to him being a bigger part in the sequel though.

I voted for Thor. He's charismatic, powerful, entertaining to watch, and is just now realizing that his actions have effected others (such as pushing Loki away, putting his family/friends/realm/ on danger, etc.)

Shucks, folks, I thought that this thread was about... Oh, never mind.

My favorite of those OTHER Avengers would the Black Widow. Martial arts, guns, and a skin tight black leather outfit. What's not to love?

Besides which, White Avenger and Black Avenger just make a natural pair.
 
Damn no love for Nick Fury? He has O votes still lol

I voted Iron Man though cause he's the best one clearly although Black Widow is the only one I wanna look at 🙂
 
I didn't vote cos it's too hard to decide! Especially when we're discussing The Avengers movie, as Joss did such a good job at giving each character something to do and their own perspective. It was a good movie for fans of all of them - you could look at it from either one's viewpoint, make it a Captain America movie with him adjusting to modern life, or an Iron Man movie with Tony stepping up to be a hero, or a Hulk movie with his personal struggle. Each one had their own development. Actually, Bruce Banner's story (as small as it is) is a million times better than the turgid Hulk movie with Edward Norton. God that was bad.

I need to give a special mention to Chis Evans though. I didn't rate him much and I still hadn't seen Captain America by the time The Avengers came out, but I thought he was great! He has the physique and the hero voice, and he managed the funny moments perfectly within the script.
 
I'm not particularly attached to any of the Avengers but Thor amuses me the most so I picked him.
