Only a couple of these characters are "just eh-worthy" when they're out of character, but I don't care.
Spike. Even though he sort of started losing his looks in Buffy season 7, he was just so ridiculously good-looking. Sure, he's got awesome hair, sparkling blue eyes, a soothing voice, a sexy British accent, a great body, perfect cheekbones (oh, somebody stop me ::drool:🙂, but his main appeal comes from his great personality. He's funny and a total badass, but beneath the rough exterior, he's a hopeless romantic who just wants the girl of his dreams to love him. He's probably my biggest fictional crush ever.
Wesley Wyndam-Pryce. When he was all dorky, I didn't think he was ugly or anything...I just thought, "Oh, he's okay." But in season 4 of Angel, when he lost the glasses and tweed and grew some stubble, he became more attractive than Angel, the show's "heartthrob", had ever been.
Angelus. For some reason, he was just infinitely hotter than Angel. Maybe it was just the whole bad boy thing. I'm only referring to the Angelus from season 2 of Buffy, by the way; he did nothing for me in season 4 of Angel.
Giles. Especially in the earlier seasons of Buffy. I didn't think anything of him until he took off his glasses for the first time, and I thought, "WOW." And then in Band Candy, when he turned into Ripper? :drool2:
Edward Cullen from the Twilight series. I was a little embarrassed to say this until SB came in and mentioned him, too. He's just the hottest book character ever! By the way, I'm only referring to the book version of Edward...Robert Pattinson, attractive as he may be, does not even compare to the Edward I imagined while reading the books.
Peter Petrelli from Heroes. What can I say? Milo Ventimiglia is just so darned attractive. The character can be a real whiner at times, though. And I miss the floppy haircut he had in season 1.
Dean Winchester from Supernatural. I've only seen about half of season 1 of Supernatural as well as a few random ones from other seasons, but that was enough to get me hooked on the oh-so-handsome Winchester boys. And, because I promised myself that I would only put one of the Winchesters on this list, I decided to go with Dean. I just love him.
Mal Reynolds from Firefly. Nathan Fillion was much less attractive on his other shows than he was on Firefly. I don't know why, but something about Mal was just really sexy. Maybe it was the flattering tight pants?
Jim Halpert from The Office. He's just so cute, funny, and good-looking to boot. At times, I find myself thinking, "UGH, I wish I was Pam!"
Jude from Across the Universe. He's a great singer, he's really cute...okay, fine, I just love every character Jim Sturgess plays.
There are a lot more, but I'll stick with those for now.
