Who kissed Buffy?

I just finished reading #8 and like always I read the "Slay the Critics" part in the back. I was a bit shocked when one of the things brought up was that Joss had already answered who kissed Buffy in the actually issue that it happened, I definately missed that. So can anyone here tell me for sure who kissed her and how you know this? Thanks.

Huh. Good question. I wondered about that, too, and I didn't catch the answer. I figured it was Xander; he and Willow were the two closest to the bed when she woke up.

It was Satsu. Apparently the cinnamon lip gloss thing was more than just a hint, or a red herring. Allie says he doesn't get why people don't get that, but personally I think if he can say that he hasn't actually seen much canon Buffy. Joss is tricky, and can't be trusted until he actually says it's so, and sometimes even when he does say it some don't believe him. For example "the slayer line passes through Buffy not Faith in Season 7" according to Joss's s script for Chosen. 😉

Of course, there are those who STILL believe that Spike managed to sneak in, do the smooch, and slip back out without being seen. (You know, don't you, that, in order to help with stopping smoking, Spike has taken to chewing cinnamon flavored Big Red gum?)

I know! I so wanted to challenge him on that. Like uh, how was it obvious? She could have given the lip gloss to every bloody slayer! Everyone knows girls share lip gloss. Buffy is hardly ever that straightforward, never know what to think.. would be different if Satsu admitted it. But we just got assumptions to be made of.
