Who Likes BtVS Season One?

I love season one! Its the season I never get tired of its quite light hearted and not taking itself to seriously. Good way of introducing monsters and slaying without being to heavy straight off the bat! There some very funny moments throughout it because everyone is just getting to know each other! Its one of my favourite seasons I have a lot of love for it. And the principal gets eaten!! I was still in school when this aired and it gave me many happy thoughts of my own principal being eaten lol 😛

I adore Season One (I just finished re-watching "Welcome To The Hellmouth"). The beginnings of certain things are always close to my heart because it's when I fall in love with that something (It's that fresh, new, excited feeling); it's the introduction of the characters, the start of their relationships, and the beginning of their journeys.

I wish I could wipe my memory of the show, and fall in love with it all over again.

Okay, now I sound like a smitten school girl. :X3:

I'll take the cheesy but energetic Season 1 over the depressing morass of Season 6 any day!

Speaking as a male, I also thought SMG looked at her best in Season 1.

Ooh, ooh, me! I loved this season, it was funny and entertaining. I remember thinking of Cordelia as the only non-main character who doesn't die, being a little shocked at the mortality rate at Sunnydale High. I also remember being shocked when I watched episode 7, "Angel" in which we learn Angel is a vampire and such. I never can put two and two together when I watch and read things.

I always think of the first season as a not-so-good one and then I watch it and I just love it!

And I love how kitsh it is now (the clothes, hairdo, broadcast colours...even the sound is kitsh) and yet so modern because 13 years after the first episode was aired, I still can relate, the character themselves are not old, only the design is! *God, I was 6 when my mum was watching it and I was just watching with her without understanding or remembering a lot*

It already showed how witty the show would be!
I have my big LOL/AWHN:tongue3:/Sad moments in this season so I pretty much love season 1!:giggle:

I Like Season 1 🙂, I Remeber The First Episode I Watched It Was Teacher's Pet and I Was Hooked 🙂 I Remember My Aunt Was Doing Laundry And Watching Buffy, and I Had Never Heard Of Buffy, And I Keep Asking Her Questions lol. So I Made Her Start From The Beginning.

Its Funny Now Because I Know More About Buffy Than She Does lol, She Will Call Me And Ask Me Questions, She Called Me Just The Other Day Asking What Episode Tara First Came In lol.

Season 1 is the one season I could never get into. I actually started off with Season 2 and went in order from there, watched Seasons 2 - 4 before purchasing 5, 6, and eventually 7. So I went back and watched the first season, and I tried to watch it all the way through another time, but yeah, I can't get into it, at all.

I would submit that if you didn't like Season 1 then there would be no reason to watch the series. Season one sets up so many important things that if you don't see it you are left in the dark on stuff. What is a watcher? What is the slayer? Why is Buffy the slayer? Who was the Master? What do you mean Buffy died? So many things.

I like Season 1. It's not my favourite season, but definitely not my least favourite.
For me the "real story" begins in Season 2. But there are many cool episodes.
Or actually I like every episode.

It's like when I can't go to sleep at night and I don't know what to do, because I know that I'll just lay in my bed, I watch some episodes from Season 1. It's absolutely NOT boring or something, but it's not too exciting.
So if I fall asleep, I won't wake up again😀
(tried it once with "Jurassic Park". I fell asleep at the beginning and woke up in the middle when there's lightning and dinosaurs screaming😀)

But, as I said, I really like it. I could watch it over and over again.

I like season one, I like to watch it for the nostalgia, I can still remember the first time I watched it and sometimes miss the simplicity of those earlier years.. I'll agree that it's not the greatest season when compared to the other six but I still like it. They packed so much into so few episodes, Witches, Vampires, Demons, The Hellmouth, Possession, Prophecies, Creatures, it's all there as a preview of whats to come.

My favourite episodes from this season include: Welcome to the Hellmouth, The Harvest, The Pack, Angel and Prophecy Girl.
My least favourite episode is: I Robot, You Jane

If I had a choice between season 1 and the depressing season 6...I'd take season 1.

D
DanAngelus
It's close between them but I like Once More With Feeling and the relationship between Buffy and Spike, also Evil Willow.. :D
I absolutely love Season 1. There is a fresh innocence and great energy and vibe about the show from those early days that really comes across in the episodes of Season 1. It's a fantastic season IMO and is actually my 3rd favourite (After 2 and 3). Some of the episodes are so enjoyable to watch just because they didn't have the budget for massive storylines and amazing special effects so they rely heavily on outstanding writing, exciting plot twists, wonderful dialoge and probably most importantly a great sense of togetherness and a really nice chemisty between the characters/actors. Brilliant season and I will always love it. Prophecy Girl rocks too 😀

I love season one! Its not to dark and there is some comedy gold in there (Sid the Horny Dummy anyone?? lol) And If it wasnt for Season One we wouldnt have 2,3,4,5,6 or 7 lol 😛

I like it, but it's my least favorite season... it's just not as serious as the other ones... which is to be expected. I did love Prophecy Girl though and it is one of my favorite episodes of the whole series.

Season one for me will always have a special place in my heart.
I was introduced to the show by my friend Jay and we would get together weekly to watch it.
The thing that struck me first was just how quickly I became attached to the characters which is why I had to come back the following week to find out what was going to happen to them next.

I also remember hearing about how the show during that season just scraped by with so little, the cast having to put there names on styro-foam cups that had to be used again and again.

And Joss' explanation as to why such a great villain as the Master was killed at the end of season one...
"Because we just didn't know if there was going to be a season two."

Priceless stuff all of it!

I liked the first season but only because it was more naive and light hearted than some of the others. It's not in any way my favourite season though, as I like the subsequent ones where the characters have a bit more depth.
