Who should have ended up with Buffy

Angel was her first love, but she was just a kid when they had a relationship. Spuffy was real. They respected and needed each other. It was not a perfect relationship, but the good ones aren't. The best thing about Spuffy was the mutual respect that they came to have for each other.

Also I would not interpret Buffy giving Spike the amulet as her willingness to sacrifice him. Noone knew what that thing was going to do, but she did know who she wanted to fight with her.

Anel may have a special place in her heart cuz he was her first, but Spuffy was far more complex and deep.

buffy didn't know what the amulet do so she didn't want to risk angel life. we have diff opinions.

I would so disagree, I didn't find spuffy complex or deep! it was started by Buffy as a way to feel, and she may have had feelings for spike in season 7, but there was never enough to act upon them, or to fix their past.

But I think Bangels relationship was more complex and deep! Everyone keeps saying that she was only a teenager, talk about taking away credit where it's due, Buffy was far more advanced then a normal teenager, she had the weight of the world on her shoulders. I think she did have a mature relationship with Angel, not to mention the countless no. of relationships that do start when people are in high school and they go on to get married and live together for the rest of their lives - it does happen. and talk about complex, they know they can't be together but everything about them tells them they should be. Angel shows up in sunnydale and the moment they have a free minuet they are kissing and Buffy tells him she thinks about a future with him - It's a true everlasting love

It may have started that way, but that is not how their relationship ended. In the end spike is the one who made buffy realise who she was. She had become more because of his Love for her. That is the nature of a complex relationship. It changes and becomes something more.

It may have but she still says she thinks about a future with Angel, she doesn't say anything that concrete to Spike!
 
yeah she says she "thinks" about a future with angel, but then she goes to Spike. I think about how thing would have turned out if I were still with my first boyfriend, but I'm happily married to my husband. I think she moved on, but then again she could have ment to kill spike in the battle. Yeah thats it.She set him up so that he would sacrifice everything so she could ultimately end up with Angel, a guy she cant even make love to. I suppose anything is possible.
The only thing I know for sure is that I am a complete dork to be this adament about a fictional relationship... (blushes)
 
I felt really sorry for Spike when he saw Buffy kissing Angel... i think Buffy should probably have ended up with Spike...and Angel should have worn that necklace thing! But i suppose Buffy loved Angel more than Spike... 🙁
 
Spike deserves to end up with Buffy. I think he loves her more than Angel does-Honestly I think Angel (in a perfect world, of course, since events would have to be altered) should end up with Cordelia.
 
I think Buffy deserve to be with a Human, sure spike and angel loved her and sure she loved them back, but serioussly can you imagine being 80 years old and your lover still looks in his 20's .. plus they really couldnt ever get married, i mean, i guess they COULD.. but not traditionally. A vampire doesn't have an identity in our government. They are demon's, and there human self is dead to the world. It just couldn't be.

But That could be very very wrong because Anya almost married Xander but I gotta keep telling myself "ITS JUST A TV SHOW!"

I have to disagree. There can be alot of debate on this issue-about if a vampire or demon totally loses their personality when they become demonised/vamped. There are some major inconsistencies on this in the show, as well. Anyhow, when Xander almost marries Anya, she is a human anyway. Her vengeance powers were taken away and she was as mortal as anyone else.

See I don't get how giving the necklace to Spike was Buffys way of saying she loved Angel more... She didnt know what that necklace would do. To me she chose Spike to fight by her side. She trusted him and respected him, and I think she loved him (she even said so) So what if Spike didnt believe her... she said it and I think she meant it.

If I were to fight in an epic battle to possibly save the world against overwhelming odds I would want my Love to fight by my side. Bufffy sent Angel away and then went to Spikes bed right after. That speaks for itself. She didn't spend what could have been the last night of her life with Angel people... she chose to spend it with Spike.

Yup. It becomes obvious throughout 7th season that Buffy really does love Spike. She makes several comments about how badly she treated him, how much spending the night with him meant to her, etc. At the end, he is the only one she feels is really by her side-and I think she gives it to him because she trusts him. When she is abandoned by every one of her friends, it is Spike who stands beside her, and she sees that. If for no other reason, she loves him for that.
I think they had the most complex relationship in the series, but also the deepest.
 
definatley most complex. Buffy and Angel had what 3 seasons where they developed their relationship... Buffy and and spike had all seven going for them. The dynamic changed over time.
 
Spike wasn't in season 1 and was barely in season 3, so they only had 5 season together, and of that 2 of them he was evil. So they had three.

Say all the complexity you want, All Angel had to do was show up after 2 years apart and they were kissing, and She tells him she thinks of a future with him, moments after he confronted her about Spike. Effectivly aying the thing with Spike can't ever be!
 
This topic has been beaten to death, even I'm tired of it. (God couldn't convince BEG that Spike and Buffy were meant to be...)

No matter. Whatever your preferred relationship, there are some simple truths that should be irrefutable(though some fool always tries).

1: Buffy and Angel could not work through their problems. Spike and Buffy could.

2: When Buffy was with Angel she did not trust him. In season 7 she trusted Spike. She opened up to him.

3: Spike Loved Buffy, Angel just wanted some nookie.

Even if she did pick Angel to be with, I still think she had an understanding with Spike that she could never have with Angel. They had something more than just boyfriend/girlfriend.


No3 is a joke for whomever is sufficiently deficient enough not to understand humour.

you are saying that angel just wanted some nookie? angel loved her more than anything... just like spike loved her too. and angel left because he couldn't give her a normal life. so i guess that that is love. ok spike got his soul back cause of buffy but still she wasn't able to love him the way she loved angel. i guess that's for sure in the ep chosen when she saw a future with him and not with spike. i like really like spike but i think that she should end up with her real love ( angel)

I thought your response might have been a piss-take, but I've had a quick look at some of your other posts, and I suspect my original assumption is most likely wrong.

In the future if you intend to reply to something I have written, at least have the courtesy to read through all of it.

Anyhow, I agree with your other two points. Then again, I'm a spuffy fan, so maybe not entirely impartial.
