After watching the last episode, who do you think should lead the Slayer Group including the Potentials, Scoobies and others? Do you think the Potentials were right for throwing Buffy out or do you think they overstepped their bound? Do you think Dawn should've smacked down Rona for saying what she said after Buffy left Casa Summers?
 
i think buffy should still lead them...even though they kicked her out.......they will eventually end of seeing it was a mistake.......buffy has led them for this long....even though buffy wanting to go into calebs cellar was way to extreme for right then....i think it would still have to be done.
 
Gotta be Buffy.

They will all realize their mistakes (probably after a few more of them die) because Faith cannot be a leader. She's more a throw yourself into the battle kinda gal, so their decision is kinda contradicting.

But, they'll change their minds. Buffy has saved them all for almost seven years now, has died protecting their pathetic lives... they'll come around
 
assuming we can't get the entire Angel Investigations team to head over to Sunnydale and clean up Buffy's mess, I'd say Giles would be their best bet to run the show.
 
without a doubt buffy! anya said she didnt earn her position, but buffy has more than earned it! she's dealt with more crap, faced more demons, made more difficult decisions, and come out on top of things more often than anyone of them combined! besides, no slayer earns her slayer powers. if you look at it from the point of view of the first slayer, slayer powers are pretty much a curse.
 
I really think Giles should, he is the brains - he does what a general has too in order to ensure the safety of his army. While Buffy has the brawns she does not have the ability to lead an army and we learned that when she went to the vinyard in the first place.
 
Faith should lead the group.

She is the Slayer, which means that it's her responsibility to fight this battle. Pretty much all the reasons for Buffy having to lead apply to Faith as well.

To be honest, I think Buffy ending up alone is exactly what's needed to win this war. After all, hasn't the show told us enough times that to be a Slayer is to be alone? And now Buffy will be forced to use her own strength, she has no one to rely upon anymore, except for possibly Spike.
 
I think it should be buffy even though at the moment she isnt the slayer and that im starting to go of her as she thinks shes better than everyone even just because shes the slayer but she isnt faith is! its realy starting to bug me!!::grrr::

Honestly though, we got to see a little of Faith's path to redemption, but she has alot to account for. My Judgement tells me that she's solid now, but there's no reason the scoobies should believe that. To tell the truth, it would be borderline insane for them to trust Faith fully after a week or so of her being back.

Does Buffy make bad decisions? Not even close to as bad a track record as Faith has. Giles may be more impartial, it's true, but his intuition has (from an historical standpoint) never been as finely tuned as Buffy's. He makes informed decisions, but she makes astounding intuitive leaps. It's a natural distinction too, seeing as how his training is very much to analyze the best course of action soberly, while her training tells her to think on her feet, and make snap decisions based on intuition and the moment. So I would have to say that Giles is the strategist, and Buffy the Tactitian.

However, Buffy's intuitions are not to be treated lightly on a strategic scale either. She sees things - sometimes by gut feelings, sometimes by an actual vision or dream, but I don't think anyone here can deny that precognition in one form or another is a Slayer's birthright; we have more than a dozen good examples of it in the series at the very least. So when it comes down to it I think that the group would be best served with Giles making the strategical decisions, but he MUST pay heed to his Slayer's intuition. If we are talking tactically, then I don't think it's an issue - Giles has been surrendering tactical control to Buffy since season 1, so I don't see a problem with her keeping it now.

So how does this apply to the latest episode? Well, Buffy seems to intuitively believe that the Brewery is an important spot for The First, so I am inclined to heed her judgement. Strategically though, Giles is right to preach caution. A better plan is needed than 'Just rush in there' but some kind of plan should have been considered - perhaps some kind of recon that posed less risk to the over-all mission. Maybe he might have chosen to abandon the idea after careful consideration. Buffy has definately been known for walking into traps, even when her gut instinct was right initially.

Summary: Giles with Strategic control, Buffy with Tactical control. Giles should pay attention to the gut instincts of Faith and Buffy.

On the other hand, I'm 99% sure that this latest power-upheavel will work out to their benefit, seeing as how they either win in the end, or Angel doesn't continue as a series. 🙂
 
Giles is the best man for the job-by far the clearest most objective thinker of the group. The group was right to kick Buffy out. She was making many careless decisions. the vineyard shoulda never happened. She should have taken the time to research who Caleb was and why he was there before taking the plunge as she would've normally done. and Rona deserves a beat down.
 
I'm with you there. I think they should throw Rona out and let her go run and hide on her own. 😉

I still think Buffy should lead them. She's never let an apocalypse happen before, she has a ton of experience in battles, and she has better Slayer skills and intuition than Faith simply out of practice. However, she also needs to realize that her friends are there to help her and she does not have complete control. It needs to go back to how it was in past seasons, with Buffy, Giles, Willow, and Xander all working together instead of giving absolute power to one person. (The other Scoobs and SITs should have some say as well, but not as much as these core four!) Yes, Buffy has been making some bad decisions, but she just needs to cool off and start cooperating as opposed to being thrown out on the street!
 
Buffy should lead. But, first kick all of them outta *her* house. Dawn shoulda b*tch slapped Rona!
 
Kicking Buffy out was a very good thing.
Caleb intended to draw Buffy and the Potentials into the wine cellar by tricking her. He was going on about the school so that she would wonder why it wasn't being guarded. I think that the school will really turn out to be the centre of the evil.

As for Buffy/Spike, I'm not so sure they'll actually have sex next episode. I heard that they are just going to sleep together for the night. On the other hand, I haven't downloaded the trailer yet.

In terms of suitability I'm not sure a formerly psychotic killer is the best plan. Xander is one of the few characters left who fits that criteria, and have you all noticed all of the comments about 'watching' and 'seeing'. His speeches seem a little bit less emotional than Buffy's, and he does get on really well with the 'next generation'. Even if he does fantasise about them.

This Year's Girl made a good point, if they leave it to one person it's never going to work.

What about Joyce? What was all that about, is she really another incarnation of 'The First' or is there something else going on? I know it's been a while but there were a few unanswered questions.

Also in the episode 'Ammends' from season 3 - The First suddenly stopped and there was a freak snowfall. Is there something else out there? Something good?

I had no idea this was going to be as long as it is, but any thoughts..?
