Which caracter is singing the best in Once more with feeling???

Amber Benson would get my vote for best singing performance, even though her big solo number "Under Your Spell" isn't my favorite song. Her vocal range is impressive.

Among the men, I loved both Anthony Stewart Head and James Marsters, both of whom turned in great performances. But I think Hinton Battle had the best male voice. So rich.

Emma Caulfield was great! I think her thin high speaking voice makes a great singing voice. She and Amber Benson clearly knew what musical theatre was all about. I suspect that in the end they were happy to sing their hearts out for Joss Whedon. And I loved watching them dance backup to SMG aka Buffy in "Something to Sing About".

And I think Sarah Michelle Gellar and Nicholas Brendon may not have been so familiar with musical theatre but proved themselves to be quick studies. I loved Nicholas Brendon's duet with Emma Caulfield. Very Broadway-ish. As for Sarah Michelle Gellar, she proved equal to the job of leading the cast in a singing as well as an acting role. They were both fine dancers as well.

As for dancing, Michelle Trachtenberg was featured more as a dancer than a singer, I heard that was by her own request. As a dancer she was wonderful to watch.

Alyson Hannigan, it appears, chose to mostly sit out this production.
 
I personally prefer, ASH and SMG's singing styles. I just find that Amber's voice really grates on me... I don't know why I just can't stand it. I know some of you out there will be wondering why.
 
TARA RULES 🙂 shes great, they made her sing higher than she normaly does, and i think its great how joss had solo for tara
and a duet with guiles 🙂

but sorry alyson.....she cant sing...hence why yo hear her for 5secs.... love her though.... bless 🙂
 
I must add...even tho I already gave my opinion, the reason I love the way buffy 'sarah' sings is because that sounds like me...teehee...nope, I never said I was American Idol material....just ready for the car and the shower....not that I sing in the shower...anymore.
 
What I like most about Sarah Michelle Gellar's singing voice is that it is so...distinctive! Sometimes the voice with which one sings is a little hard to relate to that with which one speaks. That may be particularly true when the singer has had a lot of voice training. But listening to SMG-it's really Buffy singing! 🙂
 
Amber Benson has such a sweet voice, I could have listened to her sing all night.
Close second, definately Giles I love his voice too.
 
I think there were a few standouts, but in my opinion, Tara was the best singer of all. I actually have this episode on right now 🙂

I am SUCH a fan of this ep, I got the CD and everything... I pretty much have the songs memorized!
 
Yeah I agree with the majority, Amber Benson was really impressive, I loved her duet with Giles, the two's vocals woked very well off eachother. I know she has allot on her plate, but she should release an album!

but yes as poll shows amber ( tara) is with out a dobt the best singer
 
I'm going with Antohny Stewrt Head -- and not just because of my mad Giles crush or my high school love of Rocky Horror. Whenever he sang, I felt like his voice was far and away the best of the entire cast.

ASH does have a fantastic voice (always thought so. His album on my CD shelf confirms this hehe) and I think it was only matched in the show by Amber Benson. Thought them two singing together worked great
