Who was Angels first save supposed to be?

OK, i know, thats a season 5 quote and Doyle is Lindsay in this senario and we can forget that Spike actually met Doyle in season 1 Angel.....

My question is 'Was Tina the person the PTB's meant for him to save....OR was it the girl he actually saved...Tina just led him to her?'

Cordelia.

IF Doyle had not given Angel his mission to meet Tina, then he wouldn't have made a connection. When she died he wouldn't have been so intent on going for Russell and in turn wouldn't have been at the mansion in time to save Cordeila, arguably THE most important member of team Angel next to the big man?

I agree with you on this. I think that the person Angel was meant to save was Cordelia. I mean from what we saw in City of, I don't think that there was any way Angel could have prevented Tina's death. Unless of course he had thrown away that peice of paper with her name on it. But even then, I'm sure she would have run off eventually. It makes a lot of sense that the PTBs used Tina as a way for Angel to get to Cordelia. In the first scene where Angel meets Cordelia, he's there because he had to drive Tina to the party. Angel would have probably never run into Cordy otherwise because from what we saw in the scenes before, that he didnt go anywhere on his own except for bars and I doubt he would have run into Cordy in one of those. We also saw that thanks to Tina dying and everything, Angel was able to arrive at Russel's mansion just as Cordelia was able to get killed. I don't think that was a coincidence. I think that the powers always meant for Cordelia to be the girl that Angel saved, especially since she became one of their warriors after Doyle died.
 
I agree. It was Cordy, but then again LINDSEY doesn't have incite into the PTB. So he knew from memory that Tina was the first person he was sent after (his client killed her) so that's who he was referring to.
 
i agree with you guys. i'm convinced that the girl Angel was supposed to save in this senario was Cordelia.
maybe the PTB's new that Cordelia was going to be Angel's rock, the person he needed most in the world to survive and do what he was supposed to.
without Cordelia, Angel would have stayed in the bars, pretending to be drunk and staking vamps like Sawyer (in his pre-Lost days, of course! 😉)

Yeah, but this PTB talk, they used Tina only for her to die to save Cordy........Guess you have to lose some to win some or the PTB just don't give a damn........
 
I thought it was Jasmine who connected Angel to Cordelia. Doesn't Skip more or less say so? or I'm not sure now, did he? She was a PTB, but still...
 
ya thats how I thougt/think of it. Jasmine basically set up Angel finding his first group to start to set everything in motion.
 
Yeah didnt skip explain that Jasmine basically set up everything sincce angel moved to La? MAybe even before.
 
That's a piont when someone said about Angel seeing her in the room and that she was destined to be with him, If he hadn't met Tina he wouldn't of met Cordy, then when Doyle died, he would not of had a connection, with the powers,No-one keeping him grounded, there would of been just Angel possibly Wes, but i was wondering if he never met Cordy, Doyle dies would he of been destined to of meet Wes at all, i mean you can't really beleive the alternative reallity Skip showed.Jasmine i believe just took advantage of the situation, she was a former power that be, i think judging from her glowy powers. She might have betrayed the powers after the acention, just waiting to stab the powers in the back to do what she wanted i don't know just a thought.The events i believe were linked up with each other for a purpose, which played out later on.So Tina was a starting piont for Angel to begin his mission.Which the powers used so he would meet with Cordy to save her and for her to become a member of AI.As i said at the begining.^

i could be way off, and I blame that on being really tired...but was that really what would have happened or just a facade arranged to carry out he will of the powers or jasmine or whatever? this is tangentially related i suppose.

i'm thinking that the girl angel was supposed to save, was the girl he did save. that could be quite the philosophical question though. if everything happens for a reason, and the powers orchestrated tina's death for cordy's life and ultimately sent angel on his path...then was there any choice there really at all? I sort of have to go with the idea that there really was a plan, and the ptb are the plan makers, and therefore, cordy was the one meant for saving.

like i said...i should really look into a good nap.
 
Something I just remembered is that Cordy was the one who really started Angel Investigations. And because of that agency is why Angel started helping the helpless.

Well the fact that Skip was involved means it probably was due to Jasmine. But that doesnt mean it couldnt have happened. It all seems feasible to me. If she'd ran into the casting guy instead, that could have been her life, and as a result, the guys lives to.
 
Well actually, in the alternate Angel had the visions!

That's why he was always coocked up in the apartment, but then again, Skip could have bended the reality to his will just to get Cordy away from Angel......he could have been with Jasmine from that point on which I think is true.....

It seems feasible, that fine, but thats probably more to do with the fact Jasmine through Skip needs Cordelia to understand thats what would have/will happen if he doesnt have her in his life.
From the moment Skip is implicated in the Jasmine Conspiracy, anything he has said or done, cannot be believed as he obviously has ulterior motives.
 
I understand this. And I completely believe that it was made up for Jasmines benefit. But what Im saying is it COULD have happened.
