I agree completely...and for those who chose Xander, I really don't understand why. I mean if it wasn't for him, none of them would have made it out of high school haha they all would have been blown to smithereens. I didn't vote. Even if Xander and Giles became seemingly unimportant towards the end...ugh, that just isn't fair. I can't disregard everything that they've done in the past.

I wish Anya had been included in this.
 
Ok so I did vote for Xander but not becasue I don't love him. Lets not forget that ultimately he did save the world with the "yellow crayon"! But if you think back and compare the amount of times he was a critical character as compared to the rest, I feel like it was less than the others.

Losing him would have been hard for everyone (especially B) but losing Giles or Willow or Buffy...well that would have made, IMO a bigger impact in their ability to fight evil. Sorry Xander!😱

Never really thought he was that important. Still, you still need a town clown in any tv/movie show.

But in the very second episode, if Xander wasn't there Buffy would have been dead. Xander may not be book-smart like Willow or has Giles' experience and knowledge, but he's got more courage and loyalty than them. His courage and loyalty to Jesse made him follow Buffy and then save her. Willow was Jesse's friend, too, but she was too scared to follow Buffy to the sewers to save Jesse.

Xander's courage also had saved Buffy's life in Prophecy Girl. Take out Xander, and Buffy would have died.

All the four need each other. We saw how the gang handled themselves without Giles in S6. Not so well. I'll also say the same thing about S7 without every single one of them being so distant and not trusting one another.
 
And the comics are canon. It is called Season 8 and 9. It is written by Joss Whedon.

The same Joss who said that if he had the chance to do a Buffy movie or reboot the series the comics could basically be ignored. With statements like that if doesn't sound as if he's taking the comics all too serious himself (so why should I)

Besides, I can't take something as canon when I don't read it and don't know half of what's going on 😱 Other than some stuff I read online, I'm blissfully ignorant when it comes to the comics

I don't think its a matter of who's got more courage or loyalty. Certainley, they all do. Xander had much to contribute, but in the overall scheme of things, Willow was a powerful witch, Giles was Buffy's Watcher, and Buffy was the Slayer. Xander was the brave friend who definately saved their asses a few times....but he's still number 4 on my list. 😀
