Simple thread.
Who watches 24, where does it rank on your favourite TV shows at the moment AND your favourite TV shows of all time?

Me, I watch it religiously.
Its my current favourite TV show ON TV.
It is one of the few TV shows that are on the top spot(Angel and The Simpsons being the other two).

I would say it's definitely my favourite show on at the moment and it would certainly rate a place in my all-time top five...I'm not sure where though

It's my second favorite show right now, after Dexter. Oh wait, then there's Doctor Who. Doctor Who's in there somewhere. All I know is yes, I really like 24.

I watched most, or at least half, of last season and the first two eps from this season. I don't know, I just can't get into it. I think perhaps that I think perhaps that I think it tries too hard to be suspenseful and it lacks subtlety.

No question there's a lack of subtlety. By now it's in the position of trying to top itself, come up with compelling variations on a theme...

Some of the acting is extremely good, very nuanced. Season 5 particularly - The President, the 1st Lady. Aaron Pierce, the Secret Service guy is quite convincing.

Love this show, although I'm only on the 4th series.

It's a fantastic show, I always find the start of each series the most boreing (But sill good, I just mean compared to the rest of the series) And always start watching and have agps between the episodes. And by the middle of the series I can't turn it off!

The only problem I have with 24 is the hour seems to go by so fast.

You're sitting there watching the final commercial waiting for the show to come back on to see what's going to happen next, and no wait, the show is over, House is on now. An hour goes by so quick, when you're watching 24.

If you're watching it on DVD, it's pretty easy to plow through 3-4 eps in one sitting.

A little OT, but I think in the States FOX may have slightly fewer commercial breaks than ABC, not sure. I find Lost to be virtually unwatchable "live". There's a break literally every 9-10 minutes - totally destroys any momentum with the drama.

now this is why i get the box sets 😀
i generally end up doing 6 hours straight and beg for more lol i'm such a pathetic adict but it is so totally different watching them on dvd:whistle:

I'm so glad I didnt watch it on tv, the suspence would have killed me. I watch it with a friend and we sit there between the episodes going how do people watch this on TV! Like the worst we have to deal with is when we change the disc!

I watched season 1 when it was on TV in Sweden, and I am rewatching it now in order to be able to watch the rest of the seasons, since I've heard it just gets better and better 🙂

I've tried many times to get into "24". It's just not that great. I hate Jack, he's such an unlikeable character. It tries so hard to be edgy and violent that I stop caring after a couple of 'hours'.

As far as spy shows go, give me Alias any day.

24 is definitely one of my favourite series, no doubt about it. In fact I'd say that it seems to go up in the list of my favourite show ranking after every season. Currently it's topping Supernatural, BSG and Heroes but it's not quite reached the heights of Farscape, Lost or the Whedon shows.

The current season is brilliant stuff. Tonight's episode was a little slow but ended very well. Can't wait until next week.
