Personally I have no problem seeing a Morena Baccarin, or a Rachel Nichols in the role of Helen, but if the majority opinion is no actress in a Whedonverse connected project or the Whedonverse itself has the kind of classic beauty necessary to play the part, perhaps that says something interesting in itself.

Does it say these kinds of projects have different priorities?

DDLM. I think I found a Whedonverse Helen for you based on your description. She'll be working with Jeff Bell and Adam Baldwin in this upcoming cop show. Her name's Moon Bloodgood.

She certainly has the truly a beautiful woman, but i reserve judgement until i have seen her in action, get more of a feeling about her.

I mean my issues arent that any of the women are not beautiful, its just in most cases its a beauty that is replicated numerous times, and Helen of Troy in my mind is a unique beauty, which i grant you is almost impossible to find, hence the uniqueness. I honestly don't think i would ever cast this role to a 'star' though as most already come 'affected', heck i don't think i would ever cast this role period because i think its one of the few that should be left to the imagination.

Agreed. Best left to the individual's imagination.
I don't think they have to cast the most perfect beauty, or in fact that they even should look for perfection. People don't fall in love with beauty, it's the person that's important.

Kinda reminds me when I was younger and I read shit about Marilyn Monroe. I thought she looked pretty average, nothing about her leapt out the screen screaming goddess.

But the point isnt just love, Helen of Troy is described as the most beautiful woman ever to have lived.
The people who have written this have been impartial(as possible), so there must be something to that.
Granted beauty/eye/beholder crapola still, its more the myth that now surrounds her.
To do justice you have to find someone who can live up to that myth, anything less will be a disappointment

So what do you suggest? We search the world seeking the most perfect woman alive? Actually that sounds like a good idea, we could make it a tv show. I'll make some phone calls and get us some funding!
Fiver agrees: So what do you suggest? We search the world seeking the most perfect woman alive? Actually that sounds like a good idea, we could make it a tv show. I'll make some phone calls and get us some funding!

As much as i love the idea, i suggest earlier what i think.
There are some roles that should not be done on screen, and if Troy is a standard by which the movies would be anyway i think i'm right.

Wouldn't that just be the coolest assignment.

Mr Meurte

This is your mission should you choose to accept it. Over the next six months you are to travel the world looking for hot babes. YES, you heard right buddy, find pretty girls, that's your job!

Wait, people do that, don't they. Some people have got it too easy.

Of the girls on this poll, I think the Firefly chick is probably closest to the required criteria. Though, she is a bit flat, no?

I voted for Kristin Kruek just because she has that exotic look appeal that can be passed on as a Greek. My second choice would be Charisma because we already know how wonderful she is playing a royal blood type character.
