Who would you had voted for Homecoming Queen?

You're a Sunnydale High Student, who would you had voted for homecoming Queen? Cordelia or Buffy?

Personally Cordelia deserved it more. She had nothing else, she needed the popularity and validation in High School again for her reputation, Buffy was just doing it out of spite and hatred imo
 
Lol, I don't think anyone of them 'deserved' it.
Buffy may have been spiteful but if Cordy needed it for "validation" than so did Buffy, but of a different kind. She needed to feel accepted and as a part of the student body... not just as the freak with a nightly schedule and cradle-robbing-creature of the night boyfriend.

But that said I don't think I would have voted for either of them. Obviously we know nothing about the girls who won so I can't say I would have voted for them but I wouldn't cast my vote on anyone willing to harm a friendship (even a frail friendship like the one between Buff and Cor) just for the sake of wearing a silly plastic crown.
 
I also would have voted Willow when I first saw the ep its what I was hopeing for
I could se it seeing how she was one of the ones doing all the hard work trying to help Cordie and balance her frienship with Buffy.
 
If I were to put myself in a student's shoes, pretending that I don't really know any of them that well. I would have either voted for Buffy, or one of the other girls, definitely not Cordy. I am an underdog person, so I would have voted for the person that would be the least likely to be thought of as a homecoming Queen.
 
Neither one of them deserved it. Cordelia needed to find a way to have more in her life than titles and things that really mean nothing. Buffy needed to want it for a different reason. I don't think it's about Cordelia having nothing else, I don't think that's a reason for her to get it because it's just sad. It's not Buffy's fault that she has other things. However, I would not have voted for Buffy either. It's one of the other random girls for me 😀
 
Willow, or one of the random girls.

Buffy doesn't contribute, at all, to her school besides attending classes. (well, some of them) Cordelia does (such as cheerleading, committees), but she does have a history of bullying and teasing other people.

I think Willow's perfect. She's kind, she's nice, sociable she does enough school and community involvement to get into Harvard. She tutors and occasionally teaches. She's like, the perfect student.
 
Of the students we do know of i'm team willow all the way, she's kind, nice, pretty, involved, has a cool boyfriend and takes time to tutor, sadly however prom queen is often a popularity contest so I doubt she would have actually won, but if she had tried with all her friends and Oz on her side who knows
 
I would have voted for the girl who eventually turned invisible, and what's more, I would have asked her if she would have honored me by allowing me to take her to the Prom.

Aww, where were you when I was in high school or hell when I was in college.
This is not my area of expertise or interest, thus I never voted for real. It's a competition with absolutely no substance, a worthless shallow title that in some sense shows a lack of self-confidence. In my opinion those who would actually deserve it if it meant anything are those who aren't the type to even run such as Willow.

I hope this doesn't offend anyone, even if I find it to be a stupid competition I can still appreciate those who put dedication into it. I suppose that is one decent thing that could come from it, a sense of hard work and accomplishment. Which is why for sure Buffy, who wanted to rob that from the true contestants would not have gotten my vote if I voted.

I respectfully disagree with this, no one needs validation except their own and popularity is shallow made up of fans who admire you for everything BUT what you truly are on the inside not friends. What is needed is for people to feel comfortable in their skin and to be grateful for what they have. Or if what they have is unfortunate than they need the confidence to make the best of it.

Agreed with one difference - most of the popularity contest seemed to be who could bribe the most people with sweets and muffins to vote in favour of one candidate or the other, so I object to the effort put in and the false sense of accomplishment.
I would probably have done the same thing I did in real life: not vote.

I refused to vote altogether (there were like 15 categories) because this is just a popularity contest and often those who really deserve it won't win because they're not popular enough.

I think at that point neither Buffy or Cordelia realized it, but they were both above this kind of contest. There was so much more to them than being popular enough to win a crappy plastic crown. And I'm glad both of them realized it over the years.

Anyways, I don't think someone "deserves" to be prom queen. Everyone deserves to grow up and feel like they have a place in society. That is much more important than popularity contests.

(yes, sorry, this kind of things just set me up. I think I disgressed XD )

You raise a good point here, I should have considered that.
 
As a high school student I wouldn't have bothered to vote at all!

If I was going to vote, whoever is the least popular would have been the most relatable to me and therefore earned my vote.
 
Amy! I liked her, and felt sorry that her mother had swapped bodies with her.
 
I would loved to have seen Marcie get homecoming queen, but seeing as I'm opposed to the entire idea of homecoming and its nutty butter whacky doodle masculine and feminine titles for whomever is most popular, I really don't care who won. I didn't want to see either Cordy, Willow, or Buffy win, because that would imply they're in the popularity game, and hence would shatter my love for them. And certainly while Cordy did play the game, she does possess a level of depth that allows her to rise above such nonsense as we clearly see as the first three seasons progress. So, if anyone needs it, Marcie does. Therefore, she has my vote......
