Who would you recast to improve the show

This is Blucas during his role in the very short lived "Lady Killers." Like Wesley, looking older and a bit grubbier helps, but he's still just too dang pretty to play a member of an elite military unit, hand picked to fight supernatural beings.

The prettiest boy I know is in the military. Seriously, the guy used to come get manicures with us. And yes, he is very much straight, and handles big guns all day long 😛

Just "handling big guns all day" isn't all that stressful. Having someone shoot at you with their own big guns, that's a different story.

I have seen Marc Blucas on other shows and he basically plays himself - he does not seem to be the kind of chameleon you need to be in order to be a character actor. I agree that he seems too young to be a member of an elite squad - the realization that what he was doing was in some ways wrong would have been more poignant if it had come from an older, more experienced soldier. The writing for his part may be partly to blame - if you notice, he is given missions and never completes a single one properly, something you would not expect of an elite soldier but maybe something you would expect of a young one.

And the point is? The guy is in the military, being shot as is pretty much a risk of the job. If you sign up it's a risk that you're willing to take. What does being pretty have to do with anything?

I did feel like MB was wrong for the role, but in my opinion it doesn't have anything to do with how he looks.

I just grew up in a generation where heroes didn't wear color created ensembles and have their hair styled, unless it was Prince Valiant or Sir Lancelot.

No problem, might have reacted a bit strongly, sorry for that. Bit of a touchy subject. But I honestly don't see the relation between how pretty you are, and being a war hero. If the guy wants to do his nails on his time off, it doesn't diminish the work he does while stationed in my opinion. Same way how girls can now serve the military, and surely many of them like to be pretty when they are not stationed, but it doesn't mean they can't do the job of a man when they are out there fighting.

My generation had heroes that looked like this.

It's just hard to see Riley as looking heroic when compared with the Duke (and, yes, I know, Wayne's only military time was in the movies, but he still had the look of someone who had just stepped off of the battlefield)

Then, again, we did have exceptions to the rule.

into me/my opinion:
Conner - doesn't look a thing like Angel or Darla. To replace him, off the top of my head - young Chris Pratt, young Ryan Kwanten (Jason Stackhouse from true blood) or even Paul Wesley (Stefan Salvator from Vampire Dairies.)

Joyce - Not that I don't like Sutherland. but imagine if Buffy's mom was played by Sigourney Weaver. I think that would be cool.

There are a great many traits or characteristics I would change, but it has nothing to do with the actor/actresses. I enjoyed all of their work with what they were given to work with.

I disagree. No one can do a better job than Acker. And I don't think Adams would play the psuedo crazy, shy, elf conscious, yet genius that is Fred. Let alone play Illyria. I see Amy Adams as more of a Buffy type character.

Well I was forgetting about the Illyria character was just thinking about Fred in general. The reason I said Adams is because she does that whole southern bell, ditzy, shy girl act, but like Acker is able to make it charming and funny. Didn't say she would as good, but she is a very fine actress.

No she is a very good actress, i like her, but i just don't think she fits Fred. It'd be a very different Feed and i just love the one we get. I could see her doing maybe s5 science Feed but not Pylean crazy Fred. Lol
