Who's Good Who's bad?

So after watching this weeks episode, it really had me wondering who should be we rooting for in the series.

Like the way it is now it looks like Ballards in the right, trying to track down and save the dolls.

But as far as we know these people signed up for it, We havn't seen anything to say otherwise, we've been told they signed up and we saw Caroline volunteer for it.

And the last last few moments of Man on the street really made the dollhouse seem like a good thing with how happy the internet dude was.

also how much do you think a doll would cost?

They did do a good job of making you feel sympathy for the internet dude, but he's still kind of a rapist. Maybe not in the most horrific, violent sense but insofar as he was having sex with someone who had no choice in the matter. The dollhouse can potentially be a tool for good, but this is irrelevant to the overall picture as long as those involved in it are equally willing to use it as a tool for evil. Whether they signed up or not, they couldn't possibly know and agree to every role they could potentially be programmed to partake in. For that reason, the people running the dollhouse are not good. At best, they possess some shades of grey. Ballard is more in the right than they are. However, I wouldn't say this means the audience should root for Ballard. There's no show if Ballard wins and brings down the dollhouse, so in that sense, we should be rooting for the bad guys.

In this episode, Echo was the internet guy's deceased wife. As his wife, she willingly has/had sex with him.

The person they are programmed as is willing to have sex. Since they essentially are that person, it is their choice.

No, that's not right at all. They are brainwashed, whether at one point they felt they were okay with it or not. At the end of the day, she wasn't his wife and she never would be. His wife was dead. Period. The woman he was to be having sex with was Caroline, who was not asked, "hey, you cool with having sex with Patton Oswalt?" Caroline, the person she really is, had no say whatsoever.

The internet mogul was taking advantage of echo's innocence just as surely as the other guy was who was molesting Sierra. The only difference between the two was that Echo was servicing a paying customer, and Sierra wasn't.

And as for the price, I'm sure that it varies depending on the extent and complexity of the program (a date for dinner and dancing would be cheaper than something technical, like a doctor or a safe cracker).

As for the basic price, I think that I remember hearing the sum of a million dollars mentioned somewhere, but if I did, there's no telling whether that's the base price or the deluxe package.

Here's a thought. Would you get a discount if you rented several dolls at one time? Like if someone wanted to be D'Artagnian (?) and needed the three musketeers.
