To the doubters who razzed me when I postulated a third non-Alpha force moving stuff around in the background of the Dollhouse - Phhhhhhht... :eviltongu

So somebody planted a buried persona in Echo's implant, and it told Paul...

1. The Dollhouse is bigger than he thinks.
2. There is somebody else working to bring down the Dollhouse corporation.
3. There's at least one plant in the Dollhouse.
4. They would contact him again through Echo with the buried imprint trick.

So who's the plant?

I'm thinking Topher's assistant looks good for a suspect right now.

It can't be Topher's assistant. It seems too obvious.

It's probably Claire.

True, on Topher's assistant, and yet...maybe that's the trick. The obvious choice this time.
I had thought it might be Claire, in fact I'd hope it was....but then I don't think she has the capabilities for such a thing.

I'm standing firm on the Alpha has imprinted someone on the inside, somehow. 😉

I think Boyd is a likely suspect.

After all it was he who pulled Topher out so the implant could be changed.

He could hardly done it alone though, so there must be another one as well.
If it wasn't Alpha that did it remotely or something.

good point! that had to be the moment when it happened... but whether boyd was a purposeful distraction or just making a moment of opportunity by chance...
The whole "who messed with the imprint?" thing is seriously blowing my mind. I mean, every single character on the show is a huge suspect! Can't Joss at least narrow it down a teensy bit? Then again, there is that whole thing called the "element of surprise" that he might be trying to keep.

I had a feeling it was Topher's assistant, but yeah, that is a little too obvious. What if it's Dewitt? She seems to be developing a lot more sympathy toward the Actives. Plus, she's always defending Echo when Dominic talks about how she's a threat and all that.

Oh ok thanks now I get it hmm I think it's probably a spy i heard about in the new 1.09 press release.
Can someone please tell me about this messed up imprint cause i didn't notice that at all.

Someone inside the Dollhouse (aka not Alpha) imprinted Echo with the message that she gave Paul after they fought.
I don't really think we can cross Topher's assistant off the list on the basis that it "seems obvious." The show has been fairly predictable thus far. People have said for weeks that Paul's neighbor was an active. That being said, Topher's assistant would be a really boring choice.

Most people knew she was an Active because they announced before the show even started that Miracle Laurie was playing an Active named November.

What Crazy Flakes said. The Mellie as November info has been up at IMDB ever since I can remember.
Well we know it wasn't topher or any of the actives. That is crossed off. It has to be someone that knows how to use the imprinting program too. But then again, how do we know if they know how to use it or not?
I do not think it could be DeWitt because she was in the other room torturing that guy.

Here's one that might be worth a consider. Are we even sure this secret organization, if that's what it is, are the good guys?

This is a really insane idea and it's like really ridiculous sounding...but could it have been Echo? I just rewatched the scene and when Boyd brings her in to be imprinted and Topher asks "Ready to play?" Echo looks around the room kinda guiltily.

But I'm probably wrong. Nah, I AM wrong.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks it's Echo.
It would make sense if it was Claire. Just think about it, chances are there is something off with her. Didn't they say Alpha just slaughtered everyone who came across him during that one incident? Then how come she came away with just some scars? So yeah, maybe it's her who did the buried implant.

I can't, however, see deWitt do it? I mean...why should she? She believes in the Dollhouse. Unless, of course, she got some sort of trap in petto for the FBI guy.

Maybe she took the position at the Dollhouse and pretends to care about it so she can bring it down from the inside, a la Angel in Wolfram and Hart?
Here's a frustrating one. Maybe we'll never actually meet the plant. Maybe he'll kind of be like Charlie in Charlie's Angels. A disembodied voice.

I would DIE.
Why not Topher? We saw deWitt activate a buried program in Paul's neighbour by talking about flowers and their colour. Just before Topher finished the program his assistant talked about food which could have activated him to do it. Then talking to Boyd in the hall deactivated him with the codeword.
Just a thought...

Might be interesting though. Maybe the point they're trying to make is we're entering a world where we're all becoming dolls, so in the Dollhouse they create a reality where you stop asking, "who's a doll", and start asking, "who isn't?"

That would be crazy, nuts, eh?

ITs Claire, for the sole reason that i need more Amy in my life lol.

someone said she doesn't seem capable of doing somethign liek that. Theres your clue right there, we all know she is a bit off regarding the whole operation and most likely doesn't agree with it. Maybe she also somehow brought boyd in to help. HE 's a former police officer, he is new and he seems like a pretty stand up guy who also has mixed feelings.

So there you go a two pronged attack on the Dollhouse via Claire and BOyd. Thats my guess and i'm sticking to it!!!

damn i'm excited about this show now.
