The male actor that's used to draw in the female viewers. He's supposed to represent what the female viewers, mostly female teenagers, want.

I started watching The 100 because Ricky Whittle was in it, and I couldn't believe he'd done so well for himself. In the UK he was on a teen-soap thing and our version of Dancing with the Stars, so it was so weird to think of him in some American show
