I just saw this trailer

ROBIN HOOD: Movie Trailer - Video

and it got me to thinking about all of the Outlaws of Sherwood that there have been over the years, from Flynn to Costner, and now Crowe, both in the movies and on TV. So who was your favorite?

Mine might sound sort of odd, but my favorite movie Robin Hood was Sean Connery from "Robin And Marian." He played an older, sort of disillusioned man, returned home to find that the exploits of his youth, exaggerated by his old friend Alan Adale, had turned him into a legend. It was never a great success at the box office, but I really liked it.

I officially cannot wait for this film to come out! Russel Crowe is my favourite actor and this looks amazing!

Yay! Something to look forward to!

Ohhh i saw the trailer for this a few days ago on the t.v. It looks FREAKIN amazing. ;D
Russel Crowe is a brill actor, man i can't wait for this film to come out.

Oh thanks for the trailer!!! I can't wait to see Russel!!! He is an amazing actor, and really what girl can't resist him!?:embarrassed: I am a fan of Robin Hood as a story and that would be interesting!

Personally, when I was younger, like 10 years old, I adored Kevin Costner and the movie:"Prince of thieves"...but later when I grew up I found out it has lots of comedy elements. So it is not a very serious representation of Robin Hood.

Also I like Robin Hood of BBC...another series I have to get!

Gosh that trailer looks awesome, I'm intrigued to see what the film be like but my favourite Robin Hood will always be Kevin Costner. That film was fantastic I've watched it a lot of times and I never tire of it if I watch it again.

me too! Whenever it's on tv I will watch it!Everyone says "we've seen it before" but it is Kevin!!!:)
Eh, I'm not at all excited about seeing RC, but I am looking forward to the new Robin Hood. Several other actors I admire are in it (Cate, Mark Addy, Scott Grimes) and Ridley Scott knows how to do EPIC. Looks good from the trailers I've seen!

Errol Flynn will always be the 'real' Robin Hood... I hope this flick is better than Kingdom of Heaven, but without Orlando Gloom it has to be better.

Yeah, it's a shame that they couldn't have killed him and kept Liam Neeson.

"Kingdom of Heaven" was the last movie I saw before motherhood came in the way of my cinema-going. Had I only known then what a waste of good minutes that was going to be. I was rooting for Ṣalāḥ ad-Dīn.
My favorite Robin Hood? Cary Elwes. Because unlike some OTHER Robin Hoods, he can speak with an English accent. XD

haha, love that line
About 25 or 30 years ago there was a TV series about Robin Hood, I think Mick Jaggers son was the lead. There was a lot of mystical elements in it, the theme music and a lot of the incidental music was by Clannad.

Is that the one that Sean Connery's son took over the lead in after the first or second season?
Can't say that I have a favourite actually. Prince of thieves is my favourite Robin Hood movie but that's not saying much. I do like it, that's not my point. But I'm liking it as a movie with as Eleftheria said, comic relief not as a Robin Hood story as such. I might like Kevin Costner but he really isn't my type of Robin Hood.

I'm pretty indifferent to Russel Crowe and the trailer didn't actually do much for me. So as it feels now I won't be in a rush to watch it. I'm almost certain I'll like the movie better than the trailer (better than the other way around. 😉) but other than that it's hard to say much.

That may have made it actually worthwhile and compelling.. it has been awhile since I have seen it but I believe Kevin McKidd from HBO's Rome series was killed off early as well (he was one of Liams men) and I rather like him as well. And Jeremy Irons was such a waste... I cannot tell you all the ways that Mr. Scott screwed up that movie.

I love Robin of Sherwood, a British show in the 80's. There were two Robin's. Robin of Loxley played by Michael Praed and then Robert of Huntingdon played by Jason Connery. Brilliant show and I liked them both. 🙂
