Who's Your Favorite T.V. Show Character?

Spike. He's the most endearing character I've ever seen. And his story inspires me like no other. The only character that's ever come within a mile of Spike, is Captain Jack Harkness.

Buffy, Angel, and Dollhouse are pretty much the only TV shows I've ever seen. My favorite character out of all of them, though, is Jenny. She was just really sweet and teasing, and she and Giles were so cute together. She makes episodes that I would normally hate (*cough cough* Some Assembly Required *cough cough*) worth watching.

Erm...I think CJ Cregg would be at the top of the list. In the 'verse it'd be Cordelia, and she'd definitely make the overall top 5, but CJ would be number 1. She is everything I want to be, and her characterisation on the West Wing never once missed a beat.

Somebody that most of you have never heard of:

Roy Rogers, King Of The Cowboys

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkg2C_EIea0"]Roy Rogers "A FOUR-LEGGED FRIEND" Trigger "SON OF PALEFACE" - YouTube[/ame]

cause when I grow up, I wanta be just like him.

spike is number one for me. he's just such a complicated, layered figure who has an incredible arc. he retains so much of his humanity, the good parts of him, when he is changed, he never can quite come to terms with the monster/man dynamic.

and the doctor from doctor who. david tennant doctor. love.

My favorite character is Xander, because I identify with him so deeply. Even though he definitely has his flaws, I identify a lot with his desire to help, in any way he can, and his loyalty to the people he loves and cares about. I also identify with his need to be sarcastic as a way of being funny. I use sarcasm waaaaay more than I should. 😛 I was always moved by his heart, and even though he could be a real ass at times, I fell in love with him for his redeeming qualities.

My favorite character ever is Faith and Tess Mercer from Smallville. I love them so much.

Faith will always be number one because I clung to her in a very dark time and I related to how she felt. I could see myself in Faith. The part of me that I don't let anyone see. So Faith will always hold a special place.

Tess is this adorable, vulnerable, insecure little girl. When she turns on those sad eyes my heart breaks. I love her so much. Shes been through so much and for so long tried to let people in but people just kept tearing her down.

What can I say I love those deeply damaged people.

Cory Matthews (Boy Meets World) because he's always thinking long-term and rooting for the positive. It gets him in trouble sometimes by forcing a solution but even that never phases him, coming out on top 99% of the time; proving love, perseverance and hope will see through. I see a lot of myself in that character - I, too, suffer from brillow-head syndrome. It's nice to see a family oriented character with respectable values drive a television show. I'm not a fan of sitcoms but even his physical comedy makes me laugh which is hard to do.

Honorable mentions to Buffy, Angel, Jack Shepard, Juliette Burke, Dawson Leery, Jen Lindley, Pacey Witter, Joey Potter.

Favourite without a doubt would be the Doctor from Doctor Who. Then, characters like Rose Tyler, Donna Noble, Brian Kinney and Justin, Clark Kent and Chloe Sullivan, Dean and Sam, Captain Jack Harkness and Ianto, Gene Hunt, Colonel Jack O'Neal and loads of others.

Since watching Buffy and Angel however, I'd say Buffy, Spike, Angel and Cordelia are probably as high up there as The Doctor, especially Spike and Buffy I think.

Holy porkchop! Brian Kinney is beyond awesome! :D
Buffy Summers (BTVS) and Lex Luthor (Smallville) are probably my two favorite characters, at least at the moment.

In the 'verse, I'd say Spike. And to say an amazing character that hasn't been mentioned yet, Hawkeye from the M*A*S*H* TV series. (Yes, I like old shows...)

i love mash. and hawkeye.
Hmmmm. I'd say Anya. I don't think I've ever enjoyed a character more. She could make me smile if not laugh in every scene.

Exactly how I feel :)
I'd say Willow, from the early seasons anyway. She's the character I've cared the most about. But I also love Trudy Weigel, Brian Kinney, Bill Haverchuck, Chris Keller and Mr Burns.

I adore Brian Kinney as well. He had the whole packages; clever, damaged, good-looking, and hiding a big heart. Christian Troy from Nip/Tuck has a very similar character. If you like Brian, you'd love Christian.

Dean Winchester. What can I say? He is a champion of a character. If Buffy didn't exist, I would choose him. The more I see of him the more I love him. He is so incredibly strong.

My choice is Buffy, hands down, with Spike a close second. I could say why, but I think you all know.

I'm enjoying reading everyones answers!

what little I saw of Nip/Tuck, I def agree
Um. Willow. Because she's awesome.

She starts out this timid little thing who doesn't think she's worth the time of day, and she turns into this amazingly powerful woman who knows she's loved and valued. Yeah, she makes mistakes, but it wouldn't be realistic if she didn't. And she pays the price for all of them. And she could have gone anywhere, but she stays in Sunnydale because she knows it's the right thing to do. She wants to help. There's no reason for her to help Buffy, other than friendship, but she accepts what her friend does and wants to help all the same.

It's kind of the same way with Caroline Forbes. She starts out being very bitter and asking, "Do you ever feel like there's not a person in the world who loves you?" But then, she becomes so strong. And with the care that Stefan, Elena, Matt, and Bonnie show her, she gains so much confidence in herself. She knows she's loved very much, and loves fiercely in return.

Those are my two absolute favorites.

One? Yeah... That won't be happening. For one, there's not one that stands alone at the top. It all depends on which mood I'm in, what shows I'm into at the moment and and who I remember...

I'll start with 4 which none are my absolute favourite but deserve to be mentioned.

Sheldon from The big bang theory
Zach from Bones
Marshall from Alias
Gary from Alphas

They all stand out and not always in a good way. People would definitely have problems with them in real life. But their charm saves them. They all make me laugh/smile which I always love.

Erm...I think CJ Cregg would be at the top of the list. CJ would be number 1. She is everything I want to be, and her characterisation on the West Wing never once missed a beat.
It's hard to argue with this. On the other hand I could easily mention most of the cast. Josh is probably my very favourite though. So smart and so stupid at the same time.
