Whose the Mod?

This really isnt anything to investigate but didnt know where else to put it.. just interested in some of the dynamics and wondering how the mods get assigned what they mod? No reason other than just curiosity.. some I can see, like BBTV was kinda Keans thing, art Lyris.. but was curious as to the season breakdown. Are those you preferred seasons or is it just random? Is there a method to the madness?
 
It's not a difficult process. When a member first gets promoted to Mod, they are told they will be assigned to 5-6 forums....and the new Mod chooses which ones they want.

Among more established Mods, when a new forum or project opens up, certain Mods will volunteer for the assignment. It doesn't always necessarily have to do with an individual's strengths in a certain field of endeavor, but it does help.

When I was promoted, I opted to choose the forums I tended to spend most of my time, like Art Class and the Fanfic forum, plus the ones that interst me most, like S6, Dawn, Xander and Buffy and Angel in the Real World. Then, during BEG's downtime, we needed someone to take over things in the RPG forums temporarily, so I volunteered and it just sort of stuck.

Apart from those, whenever a new project develops, we just sort of volunteer to take the lead.

Unfortunatly, there's no big Chosen secret, lol.
 
If it helps, I picked the ones that looked like they needed the most help that I knew something about.
For instance, I wouldn't have wanted to help out much in Buffy S8 since I'm only reading the Tpbs. I figured I should at least ATTEMPT to know what I'm talking about before I tried to help with the threads.

Into each generation, a Mod is born, one Mod in all the world, a Chosen One, one born with the strength and editing capabilities to merge the Threads, to stop the fight between our memebers, Guard their particular forum and delete the spam should it appear.

Yeah, like the others have said, aside from any top secret "Into every generation" stuff, we just basically choose our forums based on which forums are sort of short on mods and which forums we each find most appealing. There's not a secret handshake or a sorting hat or anything (or is there? Muahahaha!).

Like the guys have already said, at the start we kinda just chose what we knew the best as members, well that's what Lyri and I did anyway. Then projects come up and you volunteer for them or you have an idea of something new for the boards and you spear head that or other times the forums pick you! lol

No big secret at all.

At least not about this, although us mods do keep some pretty HUGE secrets...
