Why absorb?

Do you mean when she ate her followers?

If thats the case then I always thought it was to keep her strength up so she could fully heal and such. Also I don't think vampires and demons would have the same affect.

Anyone out there want to correct me on this?

Yeah i always thought that but idk i just think she should of chosen demons or something.

I think it was down to purity, the way I look at it, humans are totally pure in goodness and light. To Jasmine its like drinking mineral water. Demons and vampires are toxic like alcohol so the more humans she consumed the faster she'd heal and feel stronger.
 
I think the writers had to build SOMETHING in to make her look bad and evil to us, so that's how they got there.
Seriously, we were all suspicious that everyone just seemed to follow her, but it was still like 'okay, at least no one is getting harmed'. But then she started with the human ating, and that's when we were supposed to believe 'okay, this doesn not work anymore'.
 
Personally I think it would have been better if she had just taken free will. It's like the writers were like 'Ok the audience is too stupid to see taking free-will alone as a bad thing so lets make her eat people to make her more evil'

I don't see the taking of free will as inherently evil... does that make me stupid? :dork: Or evil? :mad15::evilgrin0

The best thing about Jasmine is how much about her is open for debate - was she even the villain, or was the Fang Gang the villains? That's one of the reasons why I like S4 best of all Angel seasons.
 
Jasmine "Absorbed" or ate ppl because it kept her from looking like her true self - the maggoty decrepit nastiness that she really was if you got a touch of her blood. By eating her followers, it kept up the illusion and her strength only intesified.
