Why are you a fan?

I watched the movie...sort of...never thought much about it. Then I heard they're going to make a TV show out of it. I figured..."It's the WB. They have to air something..."

A couple of years go by...my older sister becomes hooked by it. Since I'm on the net all the time she always asks me to look for stuff on BtVS. That made me sort of interested in finding out what the heck is all about. I skimmed through a couple of episodes, last part of S2. Perhaps if those episodes weren't as legendary as people truly believe they were then I would've forgotten about it.

So those got me into S3. Then...Eliza comes on the scene and I go "Whoa! The chick from 'True Lies'?" I had to find out what people thought of that. Then, as the storyline progressed, I became a little fascinated about what the writers were going to do next. I predicted back then Faith would turn and I was darn right. 😀 Then I watched the fight in 'Graduation Day'....that was it. 🙂 I became a fan.

Another thing...I had to go to the emergency room one night because I was having some medical problems. While in the waiting room, I noticed that they had the WB on and 'Graduation Day' was being repeated. It was just that strange but fascinating feeling being there with other patients but staring closely at the TV. Like you have no idea how wacky the whole situation is.😛

I'm totally the same!!!!

I have no idea why. I just really like the show. It's alwasy been very cool. What annoys me is that everywhere but the usa has the whole show seasons on DVD. while here we only have 1 and 2. we don't have angel and I want it! 🙁 oh well.

Druscilla: i'm sure i heard that Angel Season One is coming out on DVD in the US sometime around October... i think October 19th was mentioned. I read the WB boards a bit and that's where the information came from. I'd recommend you check Amazon.com or a site similar for absolute confirmation 🙂

Keenangel, I did check amazon. The otehr day, didn't have anything. But I will keep checking. Thanks for the info. I will so get it if that's when it comes out.

I can remember that I first started watching Buffy when Season 1 was being shown on BBC2 and because there was never anything else on the TV at the time when Buffy was, I watched it. I eventually became addicted to it and couldn't wait for season 2.

What I really love about Buffy is it's great writing. The supernatural element is really cool too. The fact that Buffy was super strong was really interesting too, I liked finding out about Slayer history and about the past Slayers.

This is me all over!!!

I have watched each boxset both Btvs and angel at least 5-6 times and watch it on TV when its on i can just watch episodes over and over i wish i could explain my l::heart:: for this program. They way they bring in new characters is done better than any other tv program and just adds so much variety and variety is the spic of badness.

I read the books because my friend had bought one and then watched the series but i much prefer the series!

I don't know, I was eight years old. It was Summer. Got very bored... Turned it on and watched it.

After that Summer I was so totally hooked!

When my mom moved my bedtime and Buffy moved right along with it, I would quietly turn on the TV and watch it. I have always liked that supernatural stuff and I didn't see it then because of my age but now I see the realize how real it is. YOU CANNOT CALL ME DOWNSTAIRS on a Tuesday night. No you can't.

Why Am I A Fan?

Here's the deal. There's nothing like 'BtVS' out there. It is rich and powerful and unrelenting. I used to despise the science-fiction genre until I studied it and realized that it is probably the most successful format of genre because it examines the human condition through metaphorical means. 'Buffy' is simply engaging. We don't see the narrative as some sort of implausibility; it is real. The characters, their plights, the circumstances for their odd or heartfelt behaviours--it is all deeply fascinating. I love the show because it speaks truth and does so with aplomb and humour. and there is nothing more satisfying than truth.
